we absolutely need a version that works with ff 3.5 . This add on keeps me from upgrading firefox and there isn't something similar here.

Update to FF 3.5 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The author Ian McKellar made the sources available here :

Maybe a good soul could work on it to make it compatible with FF 3.5 ? Actually, I personally didn't update to 3.5 because this extension doesn't work with this version.

Great idea, and coming along very nicely. I've now had my search box hidden for several days and now that I'm used to it I don't miss it at all.

@ianloic, when turning those sections off, this extension becomes kinda useless doesn't it? I know that the search box will send it to Google, but I don't type in the search box when I don't want to search. With your extension, it will send what you type even if you don't want to search and just want to get to a bookmark or history item. You don't have the option to temporarily turn this off unless you go into the extension settings, which is way too much hassle.

@Change, your searches won't be sent to Google and Amazon if you turn those sections off. FWIW, the existing search box also sends everything you type into it to Google for suggestions.

Fantastic idea, but it does have privacy implications. Everything you type in the location bar is sent to Amazon and Google to make this addon work (even if you don't use the addon). It would be better if it worked via keywords, like CyberSearch (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7931), so you have more control over what is sent to Google & Amazon.

Very nice concept. Doesn't appear to support keywords from bookmarks, only those from the search bar, making it quite a bit less useful, given its expected that people using this will be hiding their search bar. Would be excellent if searching using a keyword would show the results from that search instead of google/amazon. Nice job so far though, I'd been looking for something to show actual search results or suggestions in the awesomebar :)

v0.2.0 has improved a lot ! almost all bugs fixed.

Perfectly useable and working fine.

Some more minor tweaks and it'll be ready.

Ignore my last review, this extension is amazing! You can turn off the amazon results (and other options if needed) by clicking on the icon next to the bookmark star in the awesome bar.

This is a great extension, except for the amazon results. Could we have the option to remove these please? Thanks

Great idea, but it appears that any more than 10 characters together (without separator) causes the url bar to clear.
