Is it possible to provide the function to search in more engines the same time in the normal searchbar in the upper right corner? would be great than.
Its a good extension, but there's a small problem. When I choose a category in search sidebar it moves all my separator form my searchbar to top. I have to lay them again.
how do you use it after installing??????
Perfect! I was searching for something like this since long time ago. Thanks a lot.
wish intelligently integrate with context for easy search via this multiple search engine sidebar!
I like this add-on. If like most you are just looking for a search sidebar to replace the old IE6 one then this is nearly there. I added button as described by Gagetere in these reviews, downloaded the Live Search engine and then under Options, changed the web settings so links open in a new browser (Options is on Live search menu bar), remember to Save.
Doing this means you can have the search side bar open, the search results viewable in a tab, then every time you click on a search result a new tab opens but you don't lose the search results, so can keep switching between them.
The addon is excellent but is missing one thing: A filter the search to make a search more precise. An example: Do a search with the exact word (" "), alternating with words (OR), with only these words (+), without the words (-), etc. Missing, too, the support of other languages.
works fine, but I had hoped it would aggregate the results from all the search engines into one list using rss. I was even hopeful links that appeared in more than one search would be combined and listed higher up! maybe that will be added some day.
Works for me. With "View/toolbars/customize", I added the search button onto the navigation toolbar (dragged it from "customize-box" to the toolbar); then I dragged the "google search box" off of the navigation toolbar into the customize box, and it's gone.
The only complaint is that the search-preview that used to work on IE6 and earlier (list of sites appearing in the sidebar --- with preview pages, and content-box while hovering over sidebar links), isn't there. Sidebar has ONLY the search engines and search field. Too bad.
....but I'm ECSTATIC to have the display with sidebar search, like I'm used to. :-D
Rule #1 with any design: "If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT!"
Worked horribly, then deleted all my search engines. When I try to reinstall, it says they already exist!
This would be very cool, but is a bust.
This add-on could be very handy... unfortunately, it doesn't work...
Hoping the developer will correct the bugs.
...but it wouldn't work right for me. Whenever I opened it, all of my search engines were missing, so I would reset it, and it was ok. Go back again and they are gone again. Tried to set up categories, and that didn't work. Maybe it isn't compatible with something else?
Great add-on. I love the ability to search multiple engines.
However, the "Add category" feature doesn't work for me. (I uninstalled/reinstalled the add-on, but that didn't help.) I noticed one other reviewer had the same problem. Hope that will be resolved in the next release.
Simply Amazing - this allows for a Matrix Search in all Google Countries for keywords I am marketing online. The categories do not work for me. Not sure why. I would like to be able to categorize search engines in multiple ways (i.e. by language, region, economics, web traffic) looking forward to updates!
I'm in love with this Add-on.
PLEASE ADD A BUTTON ICON! Currently you can get to it with a three button quick key or two menu drop downs. A button is important.
It would be faster if your categories were buttons in the "Firefox Search Sidebar" main window instead of a drop down menu.
I can't figure out how to remove a search from a category.
Each category should remember your last active search selections independently of one another.
Fantastic Add-on, please keep developing/updating it.
