Also, Ctrl+Shift+K is now used by the Web Console, it would be good to use different keyboard shortcuts as well :)

Alternative without addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

for the braves:
open with WinRar /Mozilla Firefox/chrome/browser.jar
go to /content/browser/search/search.xml
open it with a text editor, find in the text "DOMMouseScroll",
delete only <<if (event.ctrlKey)>> in the "action" field,
save the file and update it in the archive.
Now you can scroll the search engines (but no loop) without pressing Ctrl on keyboard.

please update to Firefox4!

By default when your focus in the searchbar you can press ctrl+up/down arrow. Or alt+down and then hit the first letter of the desired engine or continue with pressing arrow keys.

but the scroll button feature of this addon is great.

Doesn't work on FF4beta7 Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I wish they added this function as the default in FF4.
A must have for Organize Search Bars addon.

Excellent Little optimization - needs a tweak for the Mac Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great way to keep hands on keyboard while navigating the web!
Needs a tweak for the Mac: as command+K is what activates the search bar, remembering to switch to ctrl+k adds an inconsistency that I would rather not have to deal with. Please add this option or auto-detect OS ver. to make the operation flow better. Thanks again!

Really awesome, but I hope a new version compatible with Firefox 3.6 version soon, I got 40 addons and there are only 2 incompatible, this is one.

so useful Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The feature offered by this add-on should be added in default Firefox features: well done!

But the keyboard shortcuts (the very useful part of this add-on) are not working here on Firefox 3.5 and Mac Os X 10.6.2: any suggestion? Thanks :)

Re: so useful

Glad you like it. I'm not sure about the Mac problem, I don't have a Mac myself. Does Cmd+K not do anything ? Does it perhaps do something else, it may be that on Mac's that keyboard combination is already mapped to another function.

Useful plugin.

If all list of search engines (drop down) are shown while looping is quite more useful.

I request for this feature.

I like it! It's really that what I looked for. Thank you.

And I use option "scroll in a loop".

Simple and to the point, very useful.

Would be even better if it worked while typing in the search box even if the mouse isn't hovered over the field. ( :focus in addition to :hover )
