Scrapbook+ or Scrapbook??? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Scrapbook+ or Scrapbook? Scrapbook+ is now the "continuation" of Scrapbook (according to the review site). We must uninstall Scrapbook and replace it with Scrapbook+ to get an updated version, so we are told! What on earth is going on here? Will someone please let us the users know. Is Scrapbook now no longer to be updated and is to be replaced byScrapbook+ , or not? Come on someone please explain.

This extension is one of the best Firefox extension and have many great functions.

I like really this extension; it's one that I use every day.

1/I've just a little problem with the adds-on presents on your site (http://amb.vis.ne.jp/mozilla/scrapbook/addons.php?lang=en)
. I(s impossible to install them on the version 3 of FF, about Firefox3 security: "This add-on will not be installed because it don't offer a security version".

I's a pity, because on the FF2, it's OK and much great with these add-on.

2/Secundo: it will be great to modify inside the rdf file, le version number permitted.

3/A little suggestion: Used the multi-scrapbook is vreally a pleasure; but sometimes, we must move some folder from one categorize to another categorize. And for that, the import/export tool is not the best tway for that. It would be better to have à special tool for that.
(But your combinaison tool is really perfect, to compil many pWeb pages. Fabulous.)

4/Last thing: excuse me for my english: I'm french.

@AK: ScrapBook 1.3.3.7 -
It's strange. I could save the both websites on MacOSX and they work well, no error:

http://www.cliffsnotes.com/WileyCDA/LitNote/Aristotle-s-Ethics.id-21.html
http://www.cliffsnotes.com/WileyCDA/LitNote/Aristotle-s-Ethics-Book-I-Summaries-Chapter-IV-Varying-Views-of-Happiness-and-the-Good-More-Discussion-on-Method.id-21,pageNum-8.html

Help Me! Errors on Long URL's! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Hello, the support site http://amb.vis.ne.jp/mozilla/scrapbook/ has no email contact for support Q's, so I'm posting here.

Is there a limit to URL length (160 or 165 characters?) for which ScrapBook can successfully save a webpage? If so, please increase the limit of characters, or do away with limits. I ask because some pages with LONG URL's return an error message. For example, when saving this URL http://www.cliffsnotes.com/WileyCDA/LitNote/Aristotle-s-Ethics.id-21.html with FILTER BY STRING http://www.cliffsnotes.com/WileyCDA/LitNote/Aristotle-s-Ethics -- I get the following error message "ScrapBook ERROR: Failed to write file: [URL]" whenever the URL is longer than than a certain number of characters (anywhere between 150 and 165?). For instance, the following URL http://www.cliffsnotes.com/WileyCDA/LitNote/Aristotle-s-Ethics-Book-I-Summaries-Chapter-IV-Varying-Views-of-Happiness-and-the-Good-More-Discussion-on-Method.id-21,pageNum-8.html with over 165 characters returns that error message. Please fix. Thank you for Scrapbook!

I seriously love scrapbook.
Its really helpful to me what with school, and even my own personal researching and net surfing.
The combine function and ability to export my bookmarks without incident allows me to keep my folders clean, while still saving my favorite sites.

I've been using this extension for a long time and generally it works well. However, since Firefox 3 came out the annotation and highlighting tools have been broken. You try and mark or highlight text and it disappears. The developer has removed the forums and support section from his website and does not respond to emails. So there is no way to report bugs or seek help from other users.

I've used Scrapbook happily for a long time with FF2, but with FF# drag-and-drop of a URL no longer works. The only way I can capture is to right-click on the page. Can't find any way to submit this and it's definitely detracting from the product.

Fatal Flaws Rated 1 out of 5 stars

According to a tutorial on the home page, the developer offers a forum and a questionnaire. That is erroneous. The site offers an e-mail link to the webmaster, at which (my) communication goes unanswered.

Since the search facility fails in my installation the add-on is effectively useless; since there is no way to inform the developer of this, the project is a complete washout. It's too bad; in FF 2 it was good.

3.5 and website down Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The website of this great extension seems to be down. We have to it with http://web.archive.org/web/20080208083205/http://amb.vis.ne.jp/mozilla/scrapbook/ and http://74.125.77.132/search?q=cache:amb.vis.ne.jp/mozilla/scrapbook/ until this is fixed.

This is also my last extension that needs to be updated to 3.5. So please make sure it's fully compatible with 3.5?! Thanks in advance!!

Great tool, a few features would be nice Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Still like the extension.

Multi scrapbooks change the game. An on-the-fly (no call up alt-k sidebar) select menu between scrapbooks would be crucial for improved functionality, to be able to switch between scrapbooks in near-real time.

Any chance for this to be implemented?

Scrapbook totally rocks, especially now that it's available for FF #3! You can use it as a research tool, like one other reviewer does, or you can use it to merely collect cool pages you might not get to right away, or, you can use it to collect photos from online photo sites like Flickr--just like a real time scrapbook (just without all the bells and bobbles that are popular with the scrapbooking hobby. ;-)) No matter how you use it, Scrapbook is a boon to ANYone who surfs the 'Net.

NEW: Sticky Annotations Problem! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Yes, I have the same problem as FiNa LaNa. The text from all my sticky annotations created in Scrapbook+FF2 has disappeared! All that I have left is big, empty yellow boxes!

Is there a better way to communicate this issue to the developers?

J
