Scrapbook is one of the firefox addons that I have found to be most useful in day-to-day usage. A must-have for people who spend a lot of time researching on the web, Scrapbook is a state-of-the-art web snipper that goes far beyond simple web clipping. Rather than being just an information collector, Scrapbook comes with a plethora of tools for managing, organizing and exporting the captured web pages, so that you are never lost in the chaos of all the information that you have gathered over the span of years. Not only can you search for scraps using their title, scrapbook offers full text search that is very fast and accurate. Scrapbook can be best described as a set of very well integrated tools for managing the information you obtain from the web. It does excel in its core facility that is capturing web pages complete with all the images and styles. What makes it truly stand apart is the ability to save all the linked web pages and save a local copy with link urls substituted by links to local pages. It is a fairly good annotator and provides a small and handy set of core utilities for highlighting, commenting the captured content and removing extraneous DOM elements, without trying to be a bloated web page editor. Alongside the nifty lightweight note-taking facility, the export, import and combiner utilities are truly awesome too and make Scrapbook a complete solution for information management. I have been using Scrapbook is last one year or so, and to my satisfaction, it has been regularly updated to match the rapid release cycles of firefox. No wonder scrapbook has gathered a huge fan following not only among end users but also extension developers many of whom develop add-ons for scrapbook extending its functionality in various ways. One feature that I would really wish Scrapbook had was effortless cloud synchronization across devices with an ios app to access this information on the go. But all in all its a wonderful add-on.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.4.1-signed).
