Bee Dee 666 asked, "Does anyone know of another extension that performs this functionality?"
Try SaveWithURL 0.3 or later. It's almost as good as Saved From URL was when it worked. It saves the URL and timestamp in HTML comments. The primary thing I dislike is that it puts those comments at the end of the file instead of the beginning. But the data saved is roughly the same as what Saved From URL saves:
Also, be aware that SaveWithURL is not signed, so Firefox gives a warning. But it's been working well for me.
I have used this add-on since I have discovered. It is simple but very useful for people like me who deal with a lot of images.
There si a problem though: while it works fine in Windows XP, I don't see any result in Linux. I run Zorin OS, an Ubuntu-based distribution. If this add-on would be more Linux-friendly, it would be great!
There's nothing in this add-on that is operation system dependent. Also, I myself use Linux and this add-on was developed in Linux, so I'm pretty sure it works just fine in Linux.
If you have problems using the add-on, please ask help via support link.
Oh wow, this is just what I've been looking for.
I think an option to include or not the saved date/time would be nice...but eh, this is nice enough, I guess.
lightweight addon @3kb , works perfectly
