Another "Must Have" Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is truly one of the most useful add-ons I've found. The bookmarks I use most often are always right there, and it is extremely easy to customize, so you can control the look and feel to your liking. It's so intuitive, it makes me wonder why it hasn't been done before. I've always had too many bookmarks to use a toolbar for even just the sites I visit most often, so I've gotten used to wading through cascading menus. But with samfind I can have a ton of bookmarks, organized to my liking, all in one toolbar. Amazing. This a whole new concept in organizing your bookmarks. I'd like to see this included as part of Firefox. It would be one more of the many things that makes Firefox unique. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.2).
The Ultimate Bookmarks Toolbar Replacement Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Samfind is the bookmarks toolbar Firefox should have had from day one.
The author, Marco, has provided a ton of predefined links and content across a variety of categories to help you find--and search!--news, shopping, weather, social media, and many other sites. However, the real power in Samfind is not in the pre-installed information, but in the customization potential.
With the check of a single box Samfind can incorporate and replace the Firefox Bookmarks Toolbar--and do so with numerous enhancements. Bookmarks may be displayed as icons alone or with text, even on the Mac where Firefox doesn't offer favicons on the Bookmarks Toolbar.
Moreover, Samfind's groups create an extensible location for many, many more bookmarks than will fit horizontally at one time. Groups of task-specific bookmarks and bookmarklets can be displayed, then instantly replaced by another set. In my installation of Samfind, for instance, I've created sets to hold bookmarks and bookmarklets to help me view and manage my 10+ websites and blogs; my clients' websites and blogs; my various social networking services, and; my accounts on services like Google Analytics, BuySellAds.com, Feedburner, and over a dozen others. I have far too many links to display at one time on a single toolbar--particularly when I switch to a smaller-screened laptop--so the ability to organize them into one-click-access sets--to share the same space with dozens of buttons and links--is a massive boon to my productivity.
In all sincerity, all you have to do is install Samfind and spend 10 or 15 minutes playing around with it. After that, you'll never use Firefox's Bookmarks Toolbar again.

I deeply disagree with JoeEven. I installed and used samfind for a while, and it is not at all the equivalent of the Bookmarks Toolbar with folders, offering instead far more advanced customizations and features than the latter. To name a few, with samfind: 1) you can choose how topics and bookmarks are layout on the toolbar; 2) you can choose where you want to position the toolbar (the inline NavBar option was a total space saver for me); 3) you can run searches on the bookmarked sites (arguably most important feature for me, and try to do that with the Bookmarks Toolbar...);
4) you can add bookmarking and social features to the toolbar (they allowed me to remove 4 other toolbars and I do not know how many bookmarklets from my Firefox, cleaning up a big visual mess). Of course there is still space for improvement, for example in the integration with my existing bookmarks and handling of tabs, but for me samfind was exactly what I was looking for from a bookmarks extension. Looking forward to the new version!

Just what is needed. Thanks.
How can I choose an favicon for a custom category?
Needs ability for keyboard shortcuts too.
h3lium, Keyboard Shortcuts can be accessed by pressing:
Then, if you want to narrow them down, type the first letter(s) of the website you want to go to. If you want to search that website, press the -space bar- and type your query.
So, for example, to search Wikipedia for h3lium, you would type:
and press enter.
As for favicons for custom categories - we will aim for that in 1.2.

great toolbar. I like how when you select a category several options for that category appear and this disappear when de-selectedThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1).
SamFind Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I really was not expecting to be able to rate this so quickly. Not too long ago I had downloaded and installed this add-on. I got to say, it's really great. It has news, maps, email, twitter, social networks, music, blogs, shopping and MORE! It's compact and SO -easy- to use! Really great and easy to figure out. :)This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1).
SamFind Bookmark Bar Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a wonderful tool to unlock a few extra dollars or prizes for me. The bookmarking section of the bar is the best part, and check the options there's more available then the default. Also it's great that the bar can be docked at the bottom and have auto hide, but I wish there was a way to get it into the statusbar?
I do wish however, that all the things I don't want on the bar could be adjusted. All the items you can't get rid of take too much space and are unneeded for me, but you can edit them (in the options) to only be icons.
Docking at the Bottom & Customization
You can dock the toolbar at the bottom of the browser but we did not put it in the Status Bar because there was inevitably too many buttons with all the websites and then all of the various things the status bar does that got in the way.
As far as getting rid of things that take too much space. You can get rid of or change almost everything about the bar. You can
- Turn the Bookmarking and Social Websites On/Off and select which social website you can interact with;
- Remove the Search Box and change its size;
- Add, remove or change any website on the Bar.
- Turn on/off RSS feeds
- Turn on/off separators
And you can do all of this from the Options or by dragging and dropping a tab on the Bar.
Hope that is helpful.
Samfind is the perfect glove for any user Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I really appreciate the customization to the toolbar. I wish there was an option to remove the letterings and just provide the pictures though. I LOVE the stumble bar. The Video Search is nifty.
Overall with some graphical touch-ups I think this plugin could really begin moving places.
Icons, Text, or Icons and Text
You can remove the Title of any website from the Bar. It really helps to save space so you can fit lots more websites. In the Options choose Icons Only.

If, like me, you have a sort of internet routine- meaning you visit a certain rotation of sites every time you go online - then samfind can save you some time! With samfind you're favorite websites are just a click away, so you no longer have to type addresses into the search bar every time you want to navigate away. Or, if you want to add something to your delicious or twitter but don't want to leave the website you are currently on, the programs will simply open up in a smaller screen, enabling you to add things faster. You're able to find more resources for things like blogging and travel when you use samfind, because they have built in search tools with suggested sites that you may not have heard of.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1).
Cluttered but good Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I think this extension is pretty solid, but could use some refinement. For example, I think it's too cluttered to be used effectively. It might be good to add a setting for space between images on the bar.
Also, this could benefit from some better documentation and/or a better website describing the extension and how to use it.
Other than that, great job!
Thakns for your suggestion
As far as better documentation, we recognize that samfind does a lot of things, so we have made this page to make it easier to get started:
As far as clutter, we added a feature that allows you to put a separator between websites and/or topics to give you some breathing room!
Cool social networking tool Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This add on is useful for those who use multiple social networking sites. It kind of ties them all together and makes them easier to manage and navigate to and from. The toolbar is attractive and easy to use. I haven't noticed any bugs with it. It's not for everyone but overall I like it.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1).
Very good idea. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
this, to me until now unknown add-on, has really changed the way i surf internet. with its clever design, it is really easy to customize it to your liking which is really great because you it allows you model it to your own liking. I already installed it both at home and at work and it is proving to be a significant time saver. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1).
Samfind--Great Firefox Add-On Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I never thought of getting an account at more than one bookmarks site until I got this toolbar! It is great because it allows instant access to the bookmark sites and best of all--Twitter! Now I can actually use Twitter in a more frequent manner! The only problem I had with it is that some of the bookmarks on the bar actually open the site and I like to stay on the same page. I would also like to see icons for MySpace and Youtube. Otherwise, it's excellent! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1).
You can customize samfind by dragging a tab onto the Bar or by visiting http://samfind.com/customize.php if you prefer to do it from the web. You can add/remove Topics and Websites that are pre-formatted, or you can add your own.
Finally a solid bookmark add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars
My bookmarks current are sorted in the standard Firefox bookmark toolbar with folders separating the facebook/myspace/social network sites from the woot/slickdeals/good deal websites from my school's web links etc. This add-on gives a solid, easy to use graphic UI for your bookmarks even providing a search bar for each! Prior to having the add-on I had a mess of my bookmarks that took forever to manage but now this groups and sorts all of my bookmarks in a simple and fast way. My favorite part is how quickly this is to pick up, use, and customize with very little effort. Also the ability to digg, share with facebook and reddit the website you are all from the same toolbar is awesome. On top of it all, unlike the standard bookmark list these bookmarks opens everything you click on automatically in a new tab (very solid, love this feature). No need to ctrl+t before going to another website. I'm going to have to go ahead and say this add-on is a solid five stars for anyone (everyone) who uses bookmarks to easily get around to your favorite sites. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1).
Very Useful Addon Rated 4 out of 5 stars
What I like about the samfind add-on is that with at most two clicks, I can reach the websites I visit most quickly and easily. Want to go to facebook? Click social networks-> facebook. Want to get driving directions, hit maps, type in the start and stop addresses and then you can pick google maps or yahoo maps. It is a huge time saver. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1).
In case you haven't done it already, you can visit the Options and make your two clicks into one click by choosing Just Websites. Right now you are using Topics to organize the Websites - that is useful if you have lots of Websites to organize.

Very useful! Lots of customization options. The inline toolbar mode makes better use of space than the default search and bookmarks bar combined. Definitely give it a try! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1).
samfind in the URL Bar
Harry, thanks for using samfind. We have incorporated the suggestion you emailed us - leaving the Bar at the last state that you left it when you open/close the browser. You will see it in 1.1.2.
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
You can make it better by linking the user entered web addresses you add to your lists from your personal bookmarks without having to type them in. That would be huge. It's very time consuming to personalize and that may be off putting for some. I found that it works very well for searches for most sites. The interface however is less elegant than it could be, it takes up a great deal of space, is there any way to hide it until the user needs it, a pull down bar or something? Other than those very minor touches I liked the way it worked it made searches much faster when I needed a very specific item. Good Job all in all! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0).
Integrating Bookmarks Toolbar websites and Auto-Hide
You can integrate websites that are in your Firefox Bookmarks Toolbar by going to Options and clicking Integrate Bookmarks Toolbar Websites. It will add them auto-magically!
You can also choose to autohide the Bar so that it only appears when you go to the top (or bottom) of the browser. That is also in the Options.

This is a handy addon to have. Very cool! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0).
Pretty cool. Rated 4 out of 5 stars
PROS: I like how i can make it easy to get to the websites that I use. i put it on my browser search form - so instead of having just google, I have about 40 other sites that i go to as well. so now i can search cnn or just visit reddit.
CONS: Would be good to expand the RSS feeds to include any website that has an Rss feed, like photo sites.
