Please, make it compatible with e10s! Otherwise, great addon. Thank you!
The position for the open link is kind of too low, I'd suggest you would place it near "search Google for" button. But, still nice work.
Simple and powerful. Just does it's job.
Adds a dialogue box menu item that says "open", and then the url you have highlighted follows in quotes.
Confused this with the right-links addon, which is close to right-click-link.
If you want something that automatically converts text based on criteria to links or something clever like that there are extensions available.
However, if you want something that simply opens the highlighted text (whatever it is and however it is formatted) in a new tab, as if you'd typed it in the navigation bar then this is for you.
I find this more versatile, flexible and reliable than more complicated solutions that try (and often fail) to interpret sometimes deliberately obfuscated urls.
As mentioned in the review below, being able to use this for text in editable text boxes would be the icing on the cake, but it's still excellent as it is.
Using Nightly 24 but this bug was present even in Firefox 22.
Text selection in TEXT_AREA BOXES do not work, like the one I am using to write this review. The newtab opened is blank.
Any where else the addon work fine. Just a heads up, really love this thing.
Ever since I removed my previous addon for opening selection in new tabs because it wasn't compatible with FF15, I was going through hassle of copying links, opening new tabs and right clicking "Paste and go" in them.
Now, I'll just select and right click "Open". Thank you very much.
P.S. Just a quick reply to the guy who pimped "Text2Link" here - that addon failed to open my first selection I tried it on, it abbreviated the link at random and failed to open the page. That addon sucks. "Right-Click-Link" is the best.
Text2Link addon offers a simple triple-click on every URL-text to open it in a new tab
The best things in life are simple. Like this priceless extension. FF should definitely have this feature natively.
This is absolutely a needed feature.
Very useful, especially in full screen mode.
drag and drop selected text on the tab bar
I was irritated by the lack for ff4 support for this extension (previously one of my favourites), so I went looking for something else. I found this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/advanced-url-builder/ which does everything right-click-link does, and so much more.
NEEDS AN UPDATE
It no longer words, it brings up the menu asking what to do instead of just opening the link in a new tab. Please fix ASAP, I use this the most out of any add-on.
good one but not necessary
Honestly waitng for an update for ff4 compatability before I update to it...... dont think I could live w/o this extension.
When "Copy and Go" stopped working, this was my savior! I will use this from now on! Thank you soooo much!!
I Love It!!!
Excellent!! (By Burns)
Must-have one! Definitely a favorite!
