Tabbed Browsing Peril Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Please see my review under "Restarter". This restart add-on has the same problem. Basically, it will change your tabbed browsing preference to browsing by windows. I've explained it at length at the other site.

New Problem Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I'm having the exact same problem as freeforever03:

I love this Add-On. However, I discovered a new problem when I updated Firefox to version 2.0.0.5. Now, when I restart Firefox, I get a blank page instead of my home page or the last page. Any suggestions?

This was pretty useful extension but I will not be able to use this because
1. If I have multiple browser opened and I want to restart one of the browser, not all the browser restarts.
Only the browser which we used to restart will get restarted all the rest browser data get lost.

but still Great job!!

Good except 1 bug Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It loses all but 1 firefox window upon restart. I think you forgot to restore all the old firefox windows.

Works but with some glitches Rated 2 out of 5 stars

There are 2 problems with this addon.

1) Restart icon mess-up
The icon is messed up when you go to "Customize Toolbars" dialog.
Quoted from another user:
When you go to the "customize toolbar" dialog box, the icon for the "Restart Firefox" extension is messed up. Here is a screenshot of the screen:

When you drag that huge image to the toolbar it is fine though:

2) Partial session restore
It only offer partial restoration. It only restores tabs of the current window. If you have more than 1 window opened, other windows will be lost. It's not the true restart that Firefox does (which will restore all tabs and windows).

It appears "Restarter" at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3458 is better than this one since it uses Firefox 2 own sessions restoration system to reopen all tabs and windows.

A useful and uncomplicated extension. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Simple and efficient.

Should be standard Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I generally leave my computer running throughout the week - with 1.8billion windows open - and Firefox will get very slow. A quick kick in the guts is perfect to revive it (restoring my pages - mostly).

I'm sure this will get fixed, but it's a bit flakey that only the window you Restart will have it's pages restored - i.e. you will lose the pages of any other firefox windows you have open.

Can't believe this isn't standard functionality!

Makes it easier on me. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

So much better than closing and then opening Firefox makes alot faster and easier for me.

Review of Restart Firefox 0.3 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If you need to reboot Firefox automatically without having to manually close Firefox and manually start it back up, Restart Firefox is your add-on of choice. Sure this feature is built into other add-ons, but if you need the option of restarting without a million other things thrown in (i.e. the bloatness), give Restart Firefox the call. It's very handy if you need to change themes or apply UserChrome changes quickly. This gets a 10. Well done!

Sehr sinnvolle Funktion, sollte nur zusätzlich auch über ein Tastaturkürzel funktionieren. Dann wäre es perfekt!

Works great on 2.003

not working with 2.003 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hi there, Jed:
I'm still giving this a 10 since I know how well it's always worked for me for over a year now. However it is no longer functional since FFx 2.0.0.3.

Also (IMPORTANT!): I'm experiencing the same as SLY RASKAL describes--with the shmooshed-up toolbar in FFx Customize box--assuming it looks the same anyway. In fact, I couldn't even discern that that trainwreck of a toolbar even belonged to this extension till after drag/dropping it to the upper toolbar area. Please make it work again? Sure am missing this tool.

Hey, good job on the plugin. However there is one bug.

I'm currently using version 0.3

and when you go to the "customize toolbar" dialog box, the icon for the "Restart Firefox" extension is messed up. Here is a screenshot of the screen:

When you drag that huge image to the toolbar it is fine though:
