thanks! that tab button was annoying.

Thanks for thinking of the people who don't like hacking usercss. Of course, if Mozilla had just followed their interface guidelines you could just drag and drop the button to the "Customise Toolbar" window.

Yay! Just like swatting a big buzzing mosquito.

Works like a charm.
Just need an Add-on to remove the drop down menu of tabs.

What a great add-on. Saved me the hassle of having to manually remove the annoying new tab button. Thank you.

Great add-on for those who don't want to have to manually edit and mess around with the browser configuration files.

Fantastic! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works great, doesn't make the tab buttons flash sporadically as one review said, and contrary to another review, this DOES work in 3.5.

I really don't know why Firefox had to add that tacky little button, considering we can already put a new tab button right next to the navigation buttons. Ugly, useless, clutters up my tab bar. It's kind of ridiculous that I have to download an addon just to get rid of this, but hey, thanks to the maker of this addon.

FF 3.5 (Mac)... Not so much Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It does remove the "new tab" button. However, as with all the other tweaks out there to do this, removing the button causes (for me) the tabs to shake back and forth rapidly.

Can't fault the addon for this, as even modifying the css with a display:none does the same thing.

Does the job for Firefox 3.5

Bro REALLY TNX for those addons!! I love u!! :))) Now i can work normally on my FF 3.5!!:)

DOES work with 3.5 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Or at least the Windows version, anyway. I like the idea of a button to open a new tab, but I don't like having my tabs bar visible when I only have one tab open, so I added a new tab button to my navbar and used this extension to get rid of the one on the tabs bar since it was now redundant and took up space. Simple and effective; does exactly what it says it does. Hard to argue with that.

These tabs take up space and look ugly IMO.

To get rid of the tab that is left, open about:config and reset browser.tabs.autoHide to True.

I use Firegestures to open new tabs (and several other useful things).

Does what it says. Personally, I don't think I should have to install an add-on for this. Let's hope they fix it in the next release.

Newtab since FF 3,5 or... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This newtab option wasn't there before FF3,5 was it? Or have I just never noticed it before??

Anyway..Very happy with this Addon since I already had a newtab button in my nav-bar.

A great add on for 3.5 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I don't like the add button on the tab strip. I'm surprised that Mozilla didn't put this in the options - it was the very first thing I looked for when I downloaded the beta.

No faults to report.

Simple and effective. Wonderful. Thanks Shawn Rated 5 out of 5 stars

First new add-on I've installed as soon as I got Firefox 3.5. As far as this is concerned Firefox was already perfect without this new tab thing that I've always thought ugly in IE. Furthermore, it takes space from the tab strip. I'd rather have, as I do, one add-tab button in my toolbar. Besides, it applies even to the always-show-tab unticked.
Thanks Shawn for this one. I love simple and effective add-ons.

And less messy than going through the userchrome. I prefer to manually add the "new tab" button up with the refresh/stop buttons - that way it's always there even if I have "always show the tab bar" unchecked. Thanks!
