A good idea, but doesn't "permanently" remove elements Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I wish this add-on actually removed unwanted elements "permanently", but it doesn't: hit the re-load page button and they come back. Hopefully the developer can fix this at the next release. If RIP actually removed unwanted page elements permanently, I would rate it 5 stars.

Doesn't work for Yahoo Rated 3 out of 5 stars

You can fix up your Yahoo page nicely, but the next time you go there, everything you deleted is back.

critical extension.must have Rated 5 out of 5 stars

the most important extension I use really, theres a lot of stuff adblock or others don't get (like iframes or those stupid "more from the web" wordpress ads) that are extremely annoying.
this extension fixes the issues.

Nice Idea; Wish it Worked Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Items are removed, but then the next time the page loads, they return. Uninstalling.

Works good, but I can not keep a pesky ad for IOS in Yahoo Email from appearing. I have tried all the options in RIP. The ad will go away, but comes back a little later.

Excellent. It simplify a lot the layout of my favorites news sites removing some uninsteresting part for me thanks to xpath.

Only I wish a way to temporary reload pages without rip.

Would be perfect if hot keys can be set for frequently used functions Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I have a dream that someday I can just use 'CTRL + Alt + left click' to kill floating ads. So please let user create a hot key for "Remove IFrame Permanently," and other hot keys such as one for "This Item Only".

By the way, I don't notice RIP slows down anything on my machine.

Slows down Firefox (unlike adblock plus) Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This add-on is very useful, but I noticed that when installed, opening a new window in Firefox was very slow (several seconds).
I now use Adblock Plus with Element hiding helper to achieve the same result, and Firefox noticeably faster.

Things I like Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The context menu really works in most webpages I've visited, but for some reason, the ones that contains "div" for particular advertisements keeps coming back after I refreshed the page.

great addon - thank you :-)

I don't use it often, because most that I want removed already gets blocked by AdblockPlus, but when I use it, it works like a charm. Rightclick anything, specify the variables, and it's gone.

RIP away interweb pollution to compliment adblock Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I had to abandon transmographying extensions a few years back when my laptop ceased to be soooper fast. Now with new powerful workstations I have installed

* HackTheWeb
* Platypus [slightly abandonware]
* stylish & scriptish
* element hiding helper
* karma blocker

But I miss platypus. It would be helpful if you had a comparison matrix of those to highlight the uniqueness of RIP's development in the last three years

Is there yet a subscription [repository] system planned for RIP? People capable of elegant code are more likely to create elegant RIPs for popular sites. AdBlock extensions did not become monumentally popular until the subscription system became prominent. With availability of free CoDeeN systems bandwidth cost should not be an issue. If not CDN I am confident some people would step forward to provide such hosting. ;)

thanks for all the RIPping good fish

Using FF 16.0.2 and just installed RIP and it removed that stupid 'Install Google Chrome' ad once and for all.........maybe.
Such a minor annoyance but an annoyance nontheless gone.
I'm a happy camper now.

Used this for year, and its a great addon,
but doesn't always work on every web page e..g facebook !

Using both this and YARIP seems to cover al bases though.

50/50 Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I downloaded this extension for one site in-particular hoping it block some annoying elements on a popular site. Unfortunately it fell short of permanently removing/blocking many elements; items re-appeared regardless of how much tweaking I tried. I noticed someone mentioned another extension (YARIP) that was supposedly similar to this — so I downloaded it and worked for me. This would be a great plug-in if in-fact it did permanently remove webpage elements, however, it doesn't.
