Works but disables autoredirect too. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Disables auto-redirect, which is not the same auto-refresh, on all pages. I do not want auto-redirect to be disabled by default as it is mandatory for proper usage of many websites.

Doesn't work at all for me Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I can't get this to work at all. I added one site that I wanted to refresh-block, and clicked Enable RefreshBlocker and The list acts as a Blacklist. It didn't work. I then tried all eight combinations of Enable Debug Mode on/off, RegExp on/off for the URL (even though it didn't use a regular expression), and Test against Current URL/Target URL. I restarted FF between each change of options. No combination worked: the page I wanted to stop refreshing, kept refreshing. It's a shame; I really want this functionality and no other addon offers it.

I'm running FF 35.0.1 on Win 7 Home Premium SP1.

excellent, but doesnt work inside tag noscript отлично, но не работает внутри тега NoScript Rated 5 out of 5 stars

like this: <head>...
<noscript><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=/redirect.php"></noscript>...
(firefox 28)

Exactly what I was looking for! Except for one minor thing... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It's great! It blocks the automatic reload on Weather Underground, and that's exactly what I wanted.

I only gave this 4 out of 5 stars though because I don't like how I can't disable the infobox. I mean, I feel that an option should exist to NOT show it. It's an eyesore. Y'know?

Other than that though, it does exactly what I wanted it to do: block Weather Underground's automatic reload. I just hope that the next version of RefreshBlocker will include the ability to never show the infobox, and I hope that it gets created and released very soon.

WORKS LIKE A CHAMP! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Apparently some people don't know the difference between meta refresh, redirect and javascript methods of refresh, reload, etc.. - I needed a nice clean & simple META REFRESH block and .. ZOMG! - IT WORKS!! - Thank you very much!

Did not work at all Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I was still redirected to damn linkbucks. I need something like NoScript but with a black list and not a white list because most sites I allow.

Does what it say. Good Extension. ty

Works, but is not very user friendly Rated 3 out of 5 stars

+ Disables meta refresh

- Prevents every kind of page redirection
This makes it impossible to login some websites which redirect user data into some login script page.

There should have been a toolbar button, from which user could be able to temporarily disable this extension when needed.

ATTN: RefreshBlocker for Firefox
Can you please add an option to this awesome Add-on to be able to access the 'Options' from the "Contextual Menu" or "Status Bar Icon"
-or- at-least a faster way to add a site to the 'White-list / Black-list'
..other-than, having to ...
Open Add-ons,
then finding this Add-on in the list,
then 'clicking Options' &
then finally adding the site you desire to our lists??!???
Pretty Please.

Doesn't work. Sure, it blocks the meta refresh, but it then prevents the entire page from being loaded. So now, instead of just blocking the meta refresh, the entire page is just stopped on a white background.

Perfeito Rated 5 out of 5 stars

É a única maneira de conseguir ler a homepage do UOL, pois a página recarrega muito rápido e as matérias desaparecem ou mudam de lugar.

Not work in Palemoon Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Not work in Palemoon 9.2. Browser redirect to bad site.

Nice extension. It also seems to work fine on FF 8.0a1 (after manually editing firefox maxversion parameter into install.rdf).

I second the people that asked for an option to place an icon on the status bar to ease the addition of white/black lists rules, and also the people asking for an option to avoid the alert message on blocked refreshments, that's something that may be alerted through statusbar icon.

The extension does what it says. That also means it doesn't work with JavaScript based refreshments. But there's a solution for that, I've succesfully tested this userscript (for GreaseMonkey or Scriptish addons) on example exposed in previous reviews (after adding the URL, or a wildcard in the include list setting of the script). Would be great if this extension can integrate this feature with an addon bar icon to alert wether it is in effect or not.

Also, for your information, you can edit the extension to avoid the alert message inside the page, but be careful because this way you won't know if the extension is blocking anything unless you disable it and load the page again. To remove that message follow this steps (with 7-zip):
- Open extension .xpi with 7-zip
- Go to ..\chrome\RefreshBlocker.jar and Open Inside it.
- Go to ..\content\RefreshBlocker.js and Edit (F4) it.
- Remove code from (including, look for it):
"... this.addNotification ..."
to the (including):
"... }..."
inmediately before (excluding, look for it)
"... this.isBlocked ..."
- Close editor with OKs to saving the new file, updating the file in the compressed archive, and finally closing 7-zip.

Absolutely did not work using the blacklist for drudgereport using Firefox or Pale Moon browsers.

Better than the default Firefox redirect blocker, but there is a learning curve. Works best using a whitelist with regexp definitions. Needs a toolbar icon for adding sites to whitelist (or blacklist) like both Noscript and AdBlock Plus have. Then it would be perfect. To use it, first turn off the default Firefox redirect blocker (about:config in location bar -> Toggle accessibility:blockautorefresh to false).

Great addition Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Does exactly what is claimed. Super! The only pick that I have is the window that opens to let us know the program is working. It takes up too much space at the top of the screen and gets in the way of clicking on other tabs. A way to turn this off would be a big addition.

Firefox 4.0b7 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A must-have addon.
Would you please publish a version for Firefox 4.0b7 or later?
Thanks in advance.

Open mouth insert foot…?

Yes… Firefox has a function to block refresh load [Options>Advance>General Tab] = Warn me when ect..ect.. checked.. However, this Firefox preference is very limited and has absolutely No-User Control incorporated and /or capabilities to modify actual web page behaviors… Many impious Web sites such as News organizations are notorious for refreshing (Tab) excessively to a point were surfing with such a site open (tab) makes it very difficult and slow to surf the internet. Excessive behaviors (Tab) that have the capability to by-pass or plainly ignore this basic (Firefox) block function.

For those who have critique about this add-on are so wrong for so many reasons. There are despicable web site developers who provide many Major web sites (For A Fee $$). The ability to over ride and or overwrite user’s Web Browser preferences…Such as MSN, New York Times, Reuters and Washington Post to name but a few. Web sites who Pay$$ immoral web developers big money $$$$. To high jack your web browser’s preference to accommodate their agenda and increase their add revenue$$$...

What RefreshBlocker add-on does do?
With a user’s input (Black list) and configuration details combined with page info form in Firefox you are able to identify and block the culprit site addresses causing the excessive refreshing of open web site (tab). It also, has diminished the capacity of these morally wrong and malicious web sites from excessively refreshing an open web page (Tab). This add-on’s fully functional control mechanism is sorely needed in standard Firefox 3.6.10 !!!

Wish list for lazy me would be? For developer to incorporate a black list option to encompass the whole web page (refresh) and all links (refresh) associated within the same web page..?
