  • The rating is a pure guestimate. I have to laugh at the first poster, the criticism that this is 'colab' software is utterly ridiculous. Stephen Fry tried with Pushnote but they got the implementation completely wrong. This really looks like something going in the right direction. PLEASE UPDATE FOR FF 16+ !

  • Good look with that. Some unbelievably huge players in this space. This will always be in demand though for those who just want their friends, or a smaller userbase, to see their content (as opposed to the entire google sidewiki crowd). With that in mind, I recommend carving out such a niche and enable password-based group-collaboration. No offense, but with google sidewiki is going on every android device, you won't be able to compete very well in the userbase they're targeting. There's big money though in collaborative tools. Huge money. Go that way, then sell to one of these guys for a couple cool Million: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_collaborative_software#Proprietary_software

  • nice.. ^^,

  • Cool addon to see what other users are thinking about what you're reading. We just need more people to use it though!

  • Ahh it's just a part of stumbleupon. I already do this, and I'll stick with my SU.

  • Amazing concept behind this addon. It's cool going to an article and seeing another user having already commented on it.

  • Amazing idea!

  • Cool idea

  • Quite a lot of potential but missing the critical mass to really make it great.

  • great idear !

  • i Think this add on has a lot of potential, I really enjoy using it

  • should have privacy mode with saving comments on local hdd

  • I m not using it.. but nice idea... anyway I dont install it couse of the privacy. no way!

  • I was unable to install this in FF 3.6.3. It kept taking me back to the Download Extension screen. Also, I filled out the registration form several times and couldn't log in. I gave up on the whole thing after trying to install the extension 4 times.

  • It's utterly useless, takes up screen real estate and adds nothing but annoying comments Internet trolls and idiots make. Not to mention the spammers and marketing companies already trying to exploit this.

Not worth the download, much less using.

  • This may help some people out with this add-on. Offer all users a way to opt-out of giving their comment usage rights, so if they do opt-out, their comments will simply be "hidden" from your advertising. And doing so should greatly increase the number of people who will sign up...just a thought.

We want you and all of our users to know that we've listened to your feedback regarding our Terms of Service and have completely rewritten them (and our Privacy Policy) to reflect your wants and needs. We hope the new ToS makes you feel more comfortable using the tool.

To give you an idea of what the terms now say, here's a quote "This license is you authorizing us to make your public comments available to the rest of the world and to let others do the same. But what is yours is yours – you own your content."

    Check it out at http://reframeit.com/terms

Thanks for your time and feedback!

  • 不错,用来下载youku.com的视频相当方便。

  • I'm provisionally giving Reframe It 5 stars. It's a great idea and I genuinely expect to love it.

I must add however, that though I agree to grant Reframe It unlimited and complete use of my comments in promotional screenshots, I retain the right to use my personal content anywhere I choose, and will do so freely at any time and in any venue of my choosing.

I have negotiated contracts before. Agreements like that represented in your proffer of a disclaimer--especially agreements specific to the Internet, or indeed, any agreement at all in real life--only try to civilize what is always, in fact, The Wild West. In the Wild West, parties put their guns on the table and agree to attempt to agree. It is in that spirit I have agreed to your off-putting assertion of all rights generally when you only need one specific right. I have agreed to that specific right, but my agreement stops there.

Should you wish not to accept my transfer of certain rights to you by my amendment to your License, you are free to cancel my Reframe It account instantly. Should you choose not to cancel, I will take it as tacit agreement to the condition I have set forth.

And, yes, guys, Creative Commons might work better for you.

  • The plugin offers the option of rating, reviewing and sharing your views on other websites. What makes it worth having is that you do not have not register or get permission from those sites to post your views. Its a Must Have.

  • i like it and it works. the climate change group is awesome if you like to debate the issues.

  • I've read your replies to criticism towards the license and quite simply it did not provide any more trust for you. I am not beginner nor even just average user when it comes to understanding security issues and how to avoid them - it's in computer security 101 that you should not trust little known 3rd party software provider for his words if other things, like obsucre license terms, seem otherwise.
You say that you could not use screenshots of other users comments without the criticised part of license - I say that it's a lousy explanation as you could easily change it to state that you have just rights to show users comments on screenshots on this plugins web page.

To put it simple I have no way knowing if you can be trusted and while you could be most honest people in the world I will never accept that license term - but if you ever change it I would be quite interested to install this plugin and try it out. If you have honest intentions then I recommend you to consider this throughly as that way you can get me and other people who will never accept current license to make U-turn and have us install this plugin.

P.S. Unless you realise that you don't need that large rights to use our comments for your needs and that users generally like to keep their rights to their own writings you don't need to reply my comment - there is no way I will accept that license no matter how hard you try to justify it, not even if your justifications would actually be correct.

  • nice concept, but working in law..the terms and conditions are ridiculous.

  • Yeah! It may be very cool. But It has something wrong with the sign-in step. It just holds on in that shot.

WHAT do YOU need the rights to MY POSTS or comments for???
I would have used this and likely loved it, but this doesnt sit easy with me..I cant figure out why you and others need to do/use this. Nope, sorry, change this and I will try it.
