this is perfect for what i needed. i was going to try to make a script that would redirect IMDB pages to the combined details page. this does the job perfectly and it only took about a minute to configure and test. well done.
This tool is very nice.
May it be, that there is no support for iframes? This would be awesome.
Thank the creator for this awesome addon!
I seem to be having a problem due to the endless loop prevention in this. My rule is to remove the "h" from eg: xxh.jpg leaving only xx.jpg, however the endless loop protection disables my rule when trying to open xxhh.jpg instead of turning it into xxh.jpg.
Here is one example which disables my rule http://i.imgur.com/d6Za1ihh.jpg
which I would like to become http://i.imgur.com/d6Za1ih.jpg
Also It seems there are always 7 characters before the "h" I would like removed, ie I only want the "h" removed if it is the eight character before ".jpg"
Any suggestions on how I might get around this would be appreciated, thanks.
Thanks, this worked well for what I wanted.
Which was to automatically edit and remove the "h" from URLs in a certain domain, for example changing yyyyh.jpg to yyyy.jpg
I haven't done anything else with this so I'd be surprised if I ran into any problems or bugs. Since you also added features like import/export I feel I have to give this 5 stars so far.
I always forget to buy things through Amazon's "Smile" program-- this add-on automatically redirects me to the Smile program affiliate page any time I go to Amazon.com which is exactly what I needed.
For those having problems, I used "http://www.amazon.com" (without the quotes) as the Example URL and Include Pattern and "http://smile.amazon.com/" (without the quotes) as the Redirect To URL, selected Wildcard as the Pattern Type, and left Unescape and Escape Matches unchecked.
worthless. will not even load onto firefox. three trees and you are out!
I'm on Firefox 27.0.1 on Win 7 Pro x64 SP1, and clicking on the R doesn't toggle Redirector. Any way to fix this? Used to be a great extension. Thanks!
Sorry, I am no longer updating Redirector. Anyone is free to take the code and do what they want with it though, it's at http://github.com/einaregilsson/Redirector
MS-DOS: It works still Fx17-26 you must write your rules, it's not automat. You try likely redirect bypasser (by Moises Lima) or other.
Merike: Try combining with ABP -> click on an embed such as:
Good one! Useful help and pattern testing option.
(Would be even better if it supported rewriting links in the page like urls for embed videos)
Thank you very much for this extension.
I have manage to bypass a bunch of google annoyances among others : google image search's stupid standard view, google's stupid "search instead for" page, google's stupid "about gmail" page, google's stupid etc etc. notice i keep saying google. this is mainly what i'm using it for.
thank you thank you for writing this extension.
Seems to work fine for most pages. If you put the url in the address bar it will redirect you.
However it doesn't seem to work for scripts included from pages. Which is unfortunately is what I'm looking for. (redirecting to my own version)
Many site links are not well formed i.e. no http etc. etc. so when you click 'em no redirection.
Reason: saving a redirection needs an url check and if it fails (formness) then it won't save. Which is a bit lame as the browser accepts it and it works anyway i.e. nothing wrong!
I got around it by exporting, editing and then importing, luckily it doesn't go thru that check malarkey when importing. I just hope the author doesn't "correct" that and that no auto update fixes that "bug". The plebs rool ok...
Is it possible to redirect a specific port to default 80?
E.g. domain.com:8080/admin to domain.com/admin ?
How to redirect all youtube url like
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= become http://www.youtube.com/v/
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSi2fJALDyQ become http://www.youtube.com/v/FSi2fJALDyQ
i have tried this:
include pattern: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=(\d+)
redirect to: http://www.youtube.com/v/$1
but it fail
Basic regex strings confirmed to work in apparently superior regex parsers fail to work here, wildcard examples lifted DIRECTLY FROM HIS HELP PAGE also fail to work and throw errors in a popup. Buggy and doesn't work worth a damn. You'd think the dev would test their own examples before releasing updates.
EDIT: Identical strings as tested before now magically work with no change to the string or anything... not sure what happened, but it works now and finally the Spotify Web Player will never, ever work on this computer again. Desktop software ftw ;)
Glad to hear it worked out. Thanks for modiyfing the review :)
Simple and powerful, great!
fantastic! works perfectly. I got it to redirect me to duckduckgo when i try google.com, but not to redirect when i try mail.google.com. I created a mozilla account just so i could write this. thanks so much
This does what it says on the tin, and while it may not be for everybody, for those who do need it, it's very useful indeed. Saved me from trying to write a greasemonkey script to do the same job!
Please help, how to redirect main page http://example.com to http://example.com/myblog/ (of course "http://example.com/bla-bla-bla" is not redirected). Thanks a lot.
But not work my firefox 17.0.1
This is an excellent, powerful and easy to use add-on.
The only reason I don't give it five stars is for lack of accessibility.
What I really miss here is a toolbar icon for easy access (yes I know there is one i the status line, but I don't usually have that open) and from that icon be able to both enable/disable the entire add-on or just individual redirects like the way you can with Greasemonkey (some of my redirects I only want to use half of the time)
Managed to redirect The Pirate Bay to a TPB proxy. Thank you!
Unfortunately, it seems the Redirector does not redirect AJAX calls. But works great otherwise.
oh i see. yes, i want to use it to other name to. i tried with wildcard pattern: "http://www.kapanlagi.com/foto/selebriti/*/*/*/foto-*.html" to get "http://foto.kapanlagi.com/selebriti/$3/$4.html" and it does redirect to the address i want, but to bad the website use the sentence case i told you about.
i tought i can use this addon, but look like i need to learn using script.
nver the less, youve made great addon here..
and thanks for the reply
