I'm loving this tool!!
It has support for HSL, and it's really quick at converting units.
And most important, it's released under a free license :)
Simply the best!
Wonderful color grabber. Like Wylbur, I use ubuntu and some eyedrop addons no longer worked in newer firefoxes. Glad I found this one.
I was using Colorpicker, but it no longer works with Ubuntu. I am really glad that I found Rainbow instead! It has a few more features and works great. I really like the interface, and the zoom area for selecting the pixel of color. Great!
Thank you for this great add on.
One thing I was trying to do with it that doesn't seem to be possible is changing text colors.
It would be great if you could drag from the library over text to change text color. currently it seems you can only change background colors this way
Apperance is cool but results sometimes can be wrong. Now i am removing rainbow then installing colorzilla again.
I find this addon very helpful. I use a number of different colour picker software and plugins but I like this one very much. The simplicity makes it light and fast. I like the bookmark feature and it is a simple solution to a simple query and problem.
I am Hong Tang working in Mozilla online in china. I have seen many web developer here in china loves this addon. It will be nice to support Chinese language when the browser is in chinese, say Firefox zh-CN version. I will be very happy to help on providing chinese text for product description and introduction in chinese. Thanks.
I'm impressed! I wandered over here because ColorZilla has stopped working for me with the latest update, and I must say, I'll be sticking with Rainbow even if ColorZilla patches itself. Useful set of features besides the obligatory Inspector - Website Analyzer is an awesome idea and implementation, and of course the Library, while simple, should be incredibly useful.
Обалденная вещь для анализа цветов сайта.. короче для тех кто создает web ресурсы.Рекомендую непременно!
Good, if you add zoom it is a perfect replacement for colorzilla
Oh my! Thank you! Works great with 3.6. Needed a replacement for ColorZilla since it would not work with Firefox upgrade. Sweet! ...and it works even better than ColorZilla.
Great idea, and the most recent version automatically adapts UI controls to alternate Firefox themes (dark ones too). Clever implementation and works great. Thanks!
I have to disagree with SingleWolf, I find this addon to be much easiler than ColorZilla. As a full time programmer and designer, I need to copy matching colors on a daily basis. I used to take a screenshot of the page, open up a paint program, paste, and use the color picker. I love the simple inspector option, it simply displays a little square with the hex values of any area I mouseover which is exactly what I needed.
You should make the toolbar icon turned on by default, since at first I thought I had to go through the tool menu every time until I checked out the Addon's options to see that you can add rainbow to the toolbar.
Works great for me on Firefox 3.6. It is neat to easily extract colors from anything displayed on the page - including images, fonts, etc. Simple, intuitive UI.
This addon is very good for developement.
it is working fine only with default theme of browser,it shows only color code for other theme.
Not bad. But color-picker in ColorZilla is much better and easy-to-use
Great tool for online advertising operations!
Brilliant addition to any web designers add-on collection. Thanks for your contribution. One mild annoyance was when copying the colors hex values to the clipboard, it auto adds the "#". There are some apps that don't require this ie. Photoshop. a simple additional option to modify this would be greatly appreciated.
Great extension; thanks for the hard work. Lame feature request: even though my context menu is fairly tall, it would be nice to have access to Rainbow there.
Thank you so much, This is exactly what I was looking for.
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!!
I'm curently designing an online dancewear shop and up until I found this add-on, I had to copy product images into Photoshop to identify the hex color. Now I can get it straight from the manufacturers website, saving me hours of work.
