with FF28.0 we had to remove the plug-in, then install it again. then it works. It was opening windows as separate tiny browser windows instead of in kiosk mode

Huge potential for a public library catalog kiosk. A problem I'm seeing, though, is drop-down menus drop down, but don't show items. Using Ubuntu 12.04.

OSX Mountain Lion, FF 19.0
R-Koisk breaks Firefox. Cannot browse at all by any means. Tried bookmarks and history from the drop down menu. It hides all toolbars, so there's no way to use tabs either. Can only see blank white screen. Very poor documentation. Forced to restart Firefox in Safe Mode in order to remove it.

There's one thing - in my particular case, a very important thing - in which the plugin fails to be the ultimate Kiosk mode for FF. When you keep moving your mouse to the top of the screen, that idiotic firefox mouseover strip starts to shake your whole screen, as if struggling to display tool+address bar anyway. All javascript on the web page becomes laggy and unresponsive due to this strip thing. Too bad! Otherwise, it is a great job.Why oh why the Full Fullscreen and Real Fullscreen plugins won't work anymore on Firefox 17 ???

Poor/no documentation. No ability to configure plugin. Breaks tabs.

As adamzammitDCARF said in the reviews, you can stop popups from being launch in fullscreen with his modification.

You can also remove the security which close the "save file" window by commenting the "close();" in the rkioskclose() function. But then, anyone can download files with R-kiosk.

Good thing.
Can you make ability to create more than one tab?

silent install of r-kiosk on firefox 10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Does anyone know how to do a silent install of r-kiosk. I tried unzipping the package with the ID as folder name into Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\Extensions. This still prompts user when they start firefox first time after the folder is placed.

Lack of compatibility with Reset Kiosk addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This addon is awesome, but it has a problem with Reset Kiosk addon.

When the Reset Kiosk addon resets to home page it somehow shows empty page like it problem loading. But when I switch with alt-tab there is some kind of original window in the background. Firefox also doesn't respond to mouse or touchscreen clicks anymore.

If there was a reset kiosk function integrated to load the home page after a period of time Reset Kiosk addon wouldn't be needed at all. For occasions when a user leaves the kiosk with some page loaded it needs to reset to home page in 30 seconds or so, if this function can be implemented the problem is solved.

I would want to extend it... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hi There, first up an excellent extension and does many things that I want to implement in my dad's kiosk. Except that I would want to add a couple of more features.

* This extension still allows navigating away from browser using Alt+Tab, the idea is to prevent any user activity until in secure-mode. That means removing Alt+Tab and Ctrl+Home and windows key.

* Preventing closing the window with Alt+F4, I would want that a user can only close the window by pressing logout button on my page. That means window closes only after a voluntary successful logout.

* Disabling Windows key as well

* Disabling Ctrl+Esc

* Disabling any other feature that allows navigating away from the window.

* Having all these features in chrome.

Can you suggest me how can I implement these changes and port this application in chrome.

Great Add-on. We use it on hundreds of installations. However we have found that if the user holds the alt key and clicks on a link it is offered to save the link. Which is a security risk. Can this also be disables.

Kept me with Firefox Rated 5 out of 5 stars

we have a browser based Point of Sale system.

R-Kiosk is what makes this work.

When we consider a change to Chrome, R-Kiosk is what keeps us here

This is a great addon - I have one feature or thing Id like to be able to change. I need to allow people to go to a .jsp page and it start a java application but the addon stops this. Ive looked in the file rkioskbrowser.xul and changed settings there but I couldnt get it to work. If I could solve this I would give it 5 stars :D

edit: seems if you remove the rkioskunknownContentType.xul file, this does what I need (and lowers security provided by the add-on). Hopefully there is a better way to achieve this, but for now this now meets all my requirements. Great work Kimmo

This is a great addon, I use it all the time to display a web application on a touchscreen to the public.

I would like to know if you're planning on doing a port to Firefox 4.0?
