Great addon if you know what you are doing Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A great addon that does exactly what it says it does. This does however mean its tricky to uninstall. As some people said save mode does indeed not work to uninstall the addon.

This is how you can uninstall / disable the addon.

On linux:
Start firefox from terminal with the command: firefox -url about:addons

on windows:
the easiest way to do this is to right click on a random firefox shortcut and append the target with: -url about:addons
The target should look something like this: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -url about:addons

This brings you directly to the addons page where you can normally uninstall / disable the addon.

Once locked, always locked -RasPi Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I use this with Iceweasel (Raspberry Pi Firefox) and opening the save mode to deactivate this is not possible.
Don't install this if you need to change something later or you have to uninstall and install everything again

It works perfectly - if you know how to use it Rated 5 out of 5 stars

R-Kiosk is a good option to transform your Firefox into an secure kiosk. It prevents users from accessing the browser's settings and - of cause - from uninstalling this add-on (it wouldn't make sense if a kiosk user could do that).
Unfortunately it is not a 'all-round carefree package', because it doesn't lock the systems hotkeys - it's just an add-on (imagine a Firefox add-on could do that...)
It is also a bit more complicated to configure this add-on. But I think if you weren't able to configure it, you may not be ready to run an kiosk securely.

So don't install R-Kiosk if you don't know how to use it!

However, if you know how to use it (and how to lock hotkeys) it will be a grate add-on for you / for your project.

broke my firefox permanently! do not install! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Installed this addon. But on command, it did not go into full screen. But after a while, the menu and tabs bar started to have visual glitches.

So I saved my session with tabmix plus and restarted Firefox. Now it went to fullscreen and didn't react to the key to come out of fullscreen.

So I restarted in safe mode, removed the addon and started back in regular mode.

Well, nothing works now, my other addons, especially tab mix doesn't work anymore, I cannot restore any sessions. Firefox' menus are buggy, "open link in new tab" doesn't work... I've lost 5 hours of work over this POS already and I'm not getting anywhere in the direction of fixing it.

Firefox miserable "refresh" option is useless, cause the only thing it knows to do is NUKE EVERYTHING, including bookmarks, addons including session backups. So Firefox is no help, and I found no documentation on what settings this Kiosk addon changes.

NOT FOR FOOLS Rated 5 out of 5 stars

IT WORKS PERFECTLY. By the way, the point of this extension is precisely to PREVENT NAVIGATION and NOT SHOWING THE MENUS OF THE BROWSER. If you dont know what you are doing, then you shouldn't add this.

Terribly buggy Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This addon is totally useless as a real kiosk for any serious use.
- it doesn't prevent Firefox's popups (such as the one warning of available updates and the one asking you to choose what the f*** you want to share)
- it doesn't hide the floating status bar, the one that shows up at the bottom-left corner with the url of links you hover
- when you move the cursor to the top of the screen on MacOS, the window resizes slightly (just few pixels in height) (at least it prevents the system menu from showing up)

Perfect addon, real need for me ;)
Disabled easily from firefox -safe-mode (close all firefox before), don't forget F11 when restart ;)

Under Ubuntu 15.04, Firefox 40.0 stays in kiosk mode even after R-Kiosk is removed by starting Firefox in safe mode. Even uninstalling Firefox did not remove the kiosk mode. Extremely irritating. Don't install it!

Plugin is amazing.
Don't install this if you don't know what your doing, then come and rate it badly.
Works as expected every time.

Definitely not usable in Firefox now (as of 37.0). Extremely hard to remove and prevents the user from accessing almost everything in Firefox (addon menu, menu button, etc.). I have to hold down option just to start Firefox in safe mode to uninstall it.

-> Very inconvenient
- can't turn it off
- can't have new tabs
- can't access to firefox settings
- can't access to link (there's no way to type a link)
- can't even uninstall it (through firefox settings)
- is completely full screen, no close button or whatever.
- once in full screen, forever in full screen

Extension parfaite!

Totally sucks Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This addon provides zero configuration options - and just simply sucks.

with FF28.0 we had to remove the plug-in, then install it again. then it works. It was opening windows as separate tiny browser windows instead of in kiosk mode

Huge potential for a public library catalog kiosk. A problem I'm seeing, though, is drop-down menus drop down, but don't show items. Using Ubuntu 12.04.
