F6 in Windows Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Hi, the add-on is nice. I prefer when the user press F6 key, the URL-Bar un-hide (is working) but, the URL get selected for a new input.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3).

The original F6 functionality got changed in Firefox 4. However, you can search for the "F6" add-on to get that functionality back.

It should be possible to configure the delay when the bar disappears after leaving them with the cursor, with options from instantly to some seconds.

Second point: When the mouses leaves the whole FF-window, the bars appear, which i don't really like...

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3).

Please try v5 where it won't show the bars when the mouse leaves.

Does not work with webdeveloper toolbar. If visible, there is an empty line, if not visible, the webdeveloper toolbar is behind the address bar. So pretty useless for me.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3).

v4 should fix an issue where the toolbars would keep appearing when pointing at the web developer area.

One Question Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Very interesting addon. In my particular case, what I would really need is the addon to keep operative even when tabs are NOT on top of navigation bar but below it (the classical way) . I would also need the tabs to be able to autohide ... in fact what I would REALLY NEED is a FULL SCREEN behaviour ... BUT ... with a light ERGONOMY change : now, when moving the cursor to the top of the screen in order to see the navigation bar and tab bar ... the whole page pumps down and up (even my glasses pumps down and up)... it is very unconfortable. I have seen the video about this addon ... and when the navigation bar appears it overlays the content of the screen without pumping down the content of the browser ... that's the good way ... and the question is : Could this behaviour be implemented to the Fullscreen mode ??????

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

The fullscreen issue is being tracked https://github.com/mozilla/prospector/issues/373

Required? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I don't understand the point of all this...if one is so hell bent on getting this much screen space, simply use full screen mode!!!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

Fullscreen requires using the full width, but some people want vertical space and share the horizontal space with other things.

compatibility with FoxTab Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Not fully compatible with the option "Favorite Sites" of FoxTab

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

It seems like FoxTab is doing something to draw in the full screen of the browser and is reading out a size that's too big.

Doesn't work with Tabs on Bottom Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Mousing over hidden chrome when "Tabs on Top" is not set (meaning tabs are below awesome bar) causes various tab display problems. Otherwise, nice addition to FF.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

There's issues with "tabs on bottom" if you want them to stay at the bottom when showing the other toolbars as the tabs shift away as you point at them. https://github.com/mozilla/prospector/issues/362

Awesome but small bug and suggest Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Love this addon it gives just that little bit more room to view a pretty website and my browser is less cluttered.
though i do seem to have a bug where it sometimes doesn't auto-hide at all particularly with viewing only an image/jpg/gif and no website.
One annoying thing i found that would be a nice fix is before the auto-hide starts working the top part of whatever website/image you are viewing is partially obscured it would be much better if you were able to make it "scale" the website/image from viewing with all your toolbars and then with them hidden.
This leads into my suggestion of having a setting for your addon to be able to set the time it takes the addon to hide as i would like to make it instant if i don't have my mouse cursor over the toolbars area whereas im sure there are people who would like to set their own shorter/longer setting to fit their viewing style.
otherwise cheers for the kool addon.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

v5 adjusts various timers including adding one to delay showing toolbars when accidentally pointing up. You can always click the page to dismiss the toolbar immediately.

Same issue as NyanNyan, except I am not using a persona.

Another bug I see is when I use middle mouse click to open a separate tabs in the background (via Tab Mix Plus), the additional tabs will not show up unless I move the mouse cursor near the top of the screen to trigger the navigation bar to appear. This is not a problem with using ctrl+t to open a new tab.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

Is middle click to open tabs in the background different from a ctrl-click to open in a tab? They seem to animate in with red text as usual for me.

This is a must-have add-on for those who like to see more of the web-page and less of the browser. It is a tiny add-on (under 10 kb) and restartless too! I am confident of this become a default feature in future versions of Firefox.
Just love it!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

Glad you're enjoying the small restartless-ness of the add-on!

Okay, third time I'm editing this post (didn't go as far as checking the versions list earlier-- oh, and thanks Mardak, for the lightning fast action and response!). Problem totally solved in V3! With a nice UI enhancement to boot!

PERFECT. I say again: this is essential to all netbook users who are using Firefox, and should (1) be a native OPTION in future FF releases; and (2) be highlighted as an FF feature tailored foremost for those with minimal screen real estate (and for the others who still want to maximize theirs further).

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Yeah! It works great on netbooks with very little space in both directions.

Really great add-on.
There are a couple of glitches though:
-minimize, restore and close button disappear (I'm using a custom theme)
-When right-clicking the nav bar appears
-I use auto-hide bookmarks add-on, which doesn't work with this ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/autohide-bookmarks/ )

Keep it up

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

Do you still need the auto-hide bookmarks with this enabled? You can have the bookmarks toolbar always visible and it'll get hidden away as well. The right-click now only shows the nav bar if you click and hold now in v5.

great add on, it would be great if the animation of the pop up of tool bar is improved

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

Any suggestions for how to improve it? Length of the animation? Speed? Other effects like fade?

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I have a persona on, but the awesome bar is now totally clear, it should keep the persona on...
Also, would be nice to add a visual separation from the tabs to the pages, a small shadow or something.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

Thanks for the suggestion about the shadow! That's coming in v3 with the fix for Personas.

Toggle Bookmarks Bar Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It'd be great if you could toggle the bookmarks bar with Ctrl + B or something. Please implement this!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

You can get the bookmark sidebar with Ctrl-B. Also, why not just show the bookmark toolbar and it'll get hidden away with the navigation bar.

this one is better !!!

Interesting idea of moving the url bar to any place, but it might be odd for a standard interface.

Very nice ext, hope it will support Personas soon.

Personas support is in v3!

*Addon Manager should never show nav bar , whatsoever
*Right click should not show nav bar
*Either nav bar should be made visible upon clicking tab , or the delay must be increased (user defined setting maybe?)
*Idea can be expanded to addon bar too..

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

Not showing the navbar is tracked here: https://github.com/mozilla/prospector/issues/386
Right-clicking lets users see the url without having to move the mouse all the way to the top. The navbar does become visible upon clicking for me. ?

Great extension to integrate the most rapidly to a future version of Firefox.
All the place for navigation, easy to ease, I vote for !

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

Thanks for the support!

it is great!
it needs an option to make the address bar stay hidden, until clicking the tab label.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2).

Can you describe when is the address bar appearing when you don't want it?
