I love this addon, but I'm in the same boat as everyone else. I'd love to find out how to access my logins whenever this happens, as it seems to happen every time Firefox is updated. Very inconvenient, these little "gaps" between updates.

As a follow-up to a previous review, Abine still doesn't answer their support requests. I wonder if they even read them. Too, in my experience, their chat support is mostly a joke. Still, you may want to consider using PrivacySuite. Even though its GUI couldn't be much more quirky, it does have some merit. Do know, however, that if you run into problems, even with paid features, Abine isn't going to lift a finger to support you.

hi Gavin

we're sorry about the issues you experienced with support. Please cut and paste this email and address it to "rob and kristina" and we'll see to it you get better treatment than in the past.

Mostly great Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I have been using Abine for quite a while and I have mostly very good things to say about it. However, one of my favorite features (Safe Email) stopped working about 9 months ago and though I have contacted support multiple times about this, it has not been fixed - very disappointing. This feature is so important to the PrivacySuite I can't believe it still doesn't work. My real email is registered and all of the "Safe Email" addresses show that they are being forwarded to my real email, but they never are forwarded.

I really wish they would fix this feature so I could give this add-on the high rating it deserves. It should be noted however that form filling is not perfect, but it is pretty good and getting better.

Please, fix Safe Email.

Safe email

Hi there-

Sorry to hear about the issue you're having with safe email. We're actually beta testing a totally new privacy tool called MaskMe that takes everything we've learned from PrivacySuite and really, really improves upon it. One of its core features is safe email, and it works great. You can try it out at https://www.abine.com/maskme. Note that you can't currently import your PrivacySuite logins and account info, but we're working on a way to do that in the future.

Paid????????// Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I think, I have tried it earlier.
It needs a paid registration to get all features??????///

good but buggy Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This is a good plugin. However, you cannot delete any safe emails after the newest first page. I alerted about this months ago and told a fix would be made. It has not. Get on it please.

safe email deletion

To confirm: you can turn off and on safe emails but cannot delete any beyond the first page? Is that correct? Our apologies for not getting to this issue faster.

Best feature of this suite hands down is Abine's customer support. I was quickly attended to from their online chat interface, and the customer service representative was patient, helpful, and the tone was positive. Whatever you cannot figure out, Abine will help. I feel they are genuinely committed to making the internet a private experience, and protecting users from being watched by large corporations, who care little about your privacy.

Please Update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When first installing FF 11. It did not show any issues with your program. Then I restarted it finding Privacy Suite was not compatible with FF 11 and disabled. If they told me in the beginning I would not have upgraded to FF 11. I have all my Log Ins and opt outs on Privacy Suite. Now I can't remember half of my passwords. Please update ASAP so I can get onto my sites again. It's not you. It's Mozilla. Please HELP I NEED MY PRIVACY SUITE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very Useful Privacy add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

PrivacySuite by Abine is a tremendously useful add-on and helps maintain your privacy in a number of ways. I first became aware of it on a radio interview about internet privacy almost two years ago, and have been using it since.
There are a number of ways it protects the user:
1. It blocks tracking, especially by third party cookies, but still gives the user full control over which to block or not block.
2. It block ad networks from profiling you. Again, these are easily selectable and any individual one can be unblocked if desired.
3. It will create an anonymous ID and issue a protected email address for online forms.
4. It stores your site IDs and passwords in a password-protected location within the add-on so that you need to remember only the one password. Multiple IDs for sites are permitted, and the login pop-up allows you to select which ID to use. It is flexible to either sign on to the site or just fill in the login information, useful on some financial sites that automatically obscure the user ID when logging in.
5. It will create and store a unique password for a given site.
6. It stores credit card data if you want for easy checkout.

The stored information is accessible via either of two icons placed in the status bar on the right side of the window. From there, you can open the main window or just the login box. It's not perfect. There are some sites that the login dialog needs to be coaxed open. There are some sites where it doesn't work well, and often will tell you so. But given the huge array of things it gets right, these are minor inconveniences.

Dear Levain,
Thanks for a detailed and useful user review. We have a LOT of work to do to improve this and we're ready to do it. We'd love it if you could join our beta program and help us improve it directly. email support at abine dot com. thanks!

A ripp-off Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It replaces DNT+ without asking your consent. Then, it tries to make you pay money. With other words, it's a ripp-off. Stay away!

Dear Ztoa,

We're sorry but you can't run DNT+ and privacysuite at the same time. we need to make this more clear and we apologize. the LAST thing we're trying to do is "rip you off". users of our solutions are always free to choose what they pay for and we always give lots of free tools. sorry about your bad experience.

this add on is wonderful, peace of mind for privacy concern, just install it and feel it, in my opinion it is better than ghostery because it blocks tracking and trackers link by itself and prove information on one click but in ghostery we have to do it manually. but any ways i am using it and happy with performance and no load on browser.

Not a replacement for PasswordMaker (yet) Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I've been a huge fan of PasswordMaker for years. The idea of autogenerating passwords based on a hash is fantastic. Generating usernames, too, is a great idea. Unfortunately, the team seems to have abandoned PasswordMaker to focus on Abine. I know it's in beta, but despite my best efforts, I couldn't get it to fill in any passwords, even after enabling it and configuring the integrated PasswordMaker functionality. The shortcut keys didn't work, and Abine's autofill didn't even enter a wrong password in. It was just blank. This is disappointing, because I really, really wanted to like this, as PasswordMaker doesn't work as well with Firefox as it used to.

True, but give us some time

It is true we have not yet integrated PWM features well into the PrivacySuite. It is ON the roadmap and we'll be actively developing this. We hope people will assess the quality and star rating of this based on core features and the fact it's still in BETA. Keep giving us critical feedback!

Awesome addition to firefox, compatible with ff10...I really rely on it to remember all my passowords and logins and make throwaway email accounts. I hope the guys who make this keep it up!

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This Abine add-on, Privacy Suite, is outstanding, and absolutely necessary in the current climate regarding internet privacy where internet users are largely unaware of how our browsing is being tracked, and information collected, stored, and often sold. Not only does this add-on quietly run in your browser and block ad agencies, trackers, and social networks, but it has some other fantastic features that make internet browsing even more convenient, including the information auto-filler which is a huge time saver, and an app that stores all usernames/passwords for websites visited. The abine staff is also very helpful with live tech support, and great customer service. Great job privacy suite/abine. Check out the website- www.abine.com

Great... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great, but not enough. I wanna block, o just replace some scripts from Google/MS and others CDN like http://code.google.com/intl/en-US/apis/libraries/devguide.html. Probably it need to load that scripts at once, or somehow.
Also I wanna see safety placeholder for embed video if sites has embed code for video from youtube. And only load that fucked youtube player if I click on placeholder logo.
That's crazy I know, but corporations destroy our privacy.

Great Addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Fantastic add-on I love the fact that it blocks advertisers from tracking my browsing. I also love the form fill component, where I can select the level of privacy I want when filling forms on different sites. Great support as well. Thanks a heap

Threw out 4 add-ons and replaced! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I junked 3 cookie add-ons and an ad-blocker and replaced with 1 PrivacySuite install. FF 7 on my netbook is running about 200% faster now and I get all the functionality of each. I don't see any option to selectively save my flash cookie at Pandora though? Help!

buggy, slow, installs it's own permanent junk Rated 2 out of 5 stars

This add-on does seem to block or remove most cookies, BUT... here is the reason I gave when I uninstalled this and then TACO 4.0 beta (which I tried it a few days later hoping it had the bugs fixed) and involuntarily had a window opened in my browser by Abine asking why : "The reason that I uninstalled is the same as privacysuite 0.738 ; the security pop-up doesn't work properly on web site opening and no cookie pop-up on mouse hover over status bar icon in 4 different versions of Firefox from 5.0 to 7.0.1(newest)(and YES, I turned on both options in preferences). Privacysuite 0.736 works correctly but badly slows the browser, particularly on start-up. I also don't like the FACT that upon uninstall, you left persistent (unremoveable?) cookies on my computer - one of the very things you claim to prevent!" . This after I had submitted a bug report and recieved an email reply stating that they were not aware of any problems, but if there was a problem, it would be due to an "older" version of Firefox I was using (I submitted the bug report with Firefox 5.0.1 which had been released all of two months earlier and was the last version that I tried the add-on with, along with three more recent builds). Too bad. This add-on looked promising, but seems to get less useable with each new build.

Thanks, here are some facts:

Sorry you didn't have a good experience. It's a little hard to understand everything you are saying, but here are some facts:

1. we never put cookies other than opt OUT cookies (the ones you need that tell advertisers to ignore you) on a browser.
2. we never leave cookies of any type on your browser.
3. we turned off the "hover over feature" by default

Please contact us again in support and we'll do our best to give you great service on your other issues.
