I have used this extension since Firefox 1.0 or tried to use it after Firefox 2.0. In every version since Firefox 3.0 something hasn't worked correctly. Now the Print Preview option doesn't work for the Print button. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.1-signed.1-signed).

Strange behaviour in Firefox 3.5 Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Something odd happens with this one in Firefox 3.5.
When I updated, Firefox refused to start with the "Home Page" selection. It also would not open on pages when I clicked a URL in email, on the desktop or anywhere. Firefox started but went nowhere.
After many tests I tracked this behaviour down to "Print Hint".
Disable it and everything works fine. Enable it and "boom".
Pity, this is one of my "use it all the time" extensions.

Thanks for this extension - very nice.
It would be nice if the printer friendly page could be set to be displayed instead of "print previewed".
Print Hint Options
Opens the print dialogue
Opens print preview
Opens as web page
This would be cool as some pages are just too cluttered to be easily read.
Use print preview when it fails Rated 3 out of 5 stars
5 stars if it didn't go to other websites sometimes.
I have never seen a print version on a different website - It should know that and just say no print version.
two suggestions Rated 3 out of 5 stars
1) since the "print version" branch is often misled, you need to let the user override that functionality in order to use the built-in "print" operation. when "print hint" gets it wrong, every way of invoking "print" jumps to the incorrect page instead of printing, including "print" from the "File" menu.
2) since it is impossible to anticipate every bespoke printing mechanism, you need to expose the matching process to the user (but you knew this already).

I would like the opposite of this - an extension that makes Firefox print from the screen stylesheet rather than from the print stylesheet. I hate print stylesheets! Users should decide how to format things. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.33).
notification mechanism Rated 4 out of 5 stars
it would be nice if you had it make a little icon in the far right of the location bar, where firefox displays notifications for rss feeds that it detects on web pages. alot of people don't keep the print button in their toolbars (its not like that by default in firefox 3.0.1), and it also just seems more appropriate. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.33).
Upgrade to 3 pretty please Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is a great extension that I have learned to rely on - 'til I switched to Firefox 3. Please upgrade it so we can use it in FF3. It would be appreciated very much. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.33).

Very handy tool. Will there be a FF3 version soon? I'll miss it if not.. :(This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.33).
Great idea but some issues and room for improvement Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Great idea and it works mostly fine -- on certain websites it misinterprets references to \'printer\' eg http://www.zyxel.com/web/support_download_list.php?indexflag=20040906164721&ModelIndexflags=0,420060126090414 but I can see why this can\'t be avoided in the absence of a standard. Some issues: with v0.3 I still see the old style icons on the toolbar -- not the ones with the arrows. With the minifoxflat 0.4.3 theme the plain printer icon appears blank (I see the green/yellow background icons OK) and customisation doesn\'t help. Also, how about an option to operate this through the File menu instead of icons? Some of us prefer to have very few icons on the toolbar. Another idea would be a ctrl+yellow icon for \'print without looking for the optimised page\'. \r\nThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3).

Thanks for this extension. It works for most web-sites. However, it doesn't work for online.wsj.com.
Can we have a fix for WSJ?
Great extension! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Exactly what I was looking for, thank you so much for coming up with this! And it works great, too... ;)This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3).
Great Extension Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Although this extension did not detect 100% of sites with printer friendly pages, it helped me because I no longer have to check as much as I used to with print preview and copying page content into MS Word to make sure that it prints in a readable way. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3).
