Why was Presentation Mode created?
When giving a presentation and using Firefox, I noticed how much personal information was being revealed: the browsing history, the most visited websites, bookmarks, and the files I had downloaded. Another issue is when someone is standing next to you and you have to use your browser in front of them, revealing all the above information in the process. As a temporary workaround, I found myself clearing the history (!) before giving a presentation or when using the browser in front of others. But this was, as is obvious, a very poor solution. I then noticed that other people had the same problem and while they expected that Firefox's "Private Browsing" would help hide this information in private browsing mode, it was not designed to do so. So to help protect the privacy of users and provide a presentation mode for Firefox, I wrote this simple but much-needed add-on.
What's next for Presentation Mode
- Preserving the state of Presentation Mode across restarts.
- Support for restoring Pinned Tabs.
- Based on the feedback from users: other enhancements that can be added.
