I installed PrefBar 6.0.1 for SeaMonkey 2.2 in all four profiles that I use, replacing PrefBar 5.1.1 (which was tweaked to enable it for SeaMonkey 2.2). Preliminary testing indicates it is working well. Existing buttons from PrefBar 5.1.1 -- including some that a custom created myself -- still work appropriately.

When restarting SeaMonkey (required as part of the installation), an enabled Internet connection was requested so that http://prefbar.tuxfamily.org/ could be accessed.

Well Maintained, and works great Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I was surprised to see AMO showing an average rating of only '4 stars' for this wonderful toolbar. And you can configure your toolbar on-the-fly, just by including the 'customize' button right on the bar on the bar! With a wide screen, like mine, you can fit all kinds of great anti-ad, cache speedup, security, and menu items from other menus into single-clicky icons or text buttons

I like working FAST. There are a lot of menu items which I'd like to get done with ONE "drag and click", rather than two (using the Menubar, you spend one drag and click activating the Menu. The you do it again to choosing and activating a specific Menu Item. Twice as much work !!).

In any case, the "downgrade" of the average rating comes from two reviewers. One person may have been correct, at that time, about "issues with Beta 4.7", even though I feel that it's NOT NICE to punish with "Star takeaways when you're using an Alpha or Beta Pre-Release version. In any case, his self-proclaimed nitpick is gone and fixed, long ago: As of this date I'm using Firefox 7.0a2 (Aurora channel), and prefbar is perfect.

The other reviewer, giving two stars for a feature which has already been restored AND documented, needs to come back and remove those posts. The Developer even posted comprehensive instructions here, but "someone" doesn't seem to have noticed. NOT NICE!

For me, this is one of about 10 add-ons worthy of all 5 stars, it's enormously beneficial for my use of FireFox.

My favorite extension - thanks for being so versatile and up-to-date! I've been using PrefBar for years on Firefox, K-meleon and Seamonkey.

A small nag in FF 4 Beta 7: Whenever I have customized my Firefox toolbar layout, PrefBar appears to want to load all its unused buttons and options. All is well again after I restart Firefox.

Excellent add-on! I agree with the other reviewers that also gave it 5 stars, it has become one of my firm favourites, thank you Manuel

NB. I did type a longer review but for some reason it disappeared?

Very versatile alternative to QuickJava, allowing you to disable/enable flash, java, javascript, pipelining, clear cookies, cache, history etc., select various useragents and proxies. It can either be used as a toolbar or a drop down menu from an icon in the Firefox Navigation Toolbar- addable by right clicking navigation/menu bar, customize, and drag Prefbar Menu icon onto the toolbar where ever you want it. To add new options click customize on the right of the prefbar, then drag any option you want on the left i.e. Hide Toolbar and drag to the right pane, click OK.

I’ve been using Prefbar continuously for years ever since I found a review of it about 3 or 4 years ago in a computer magazine – and that was when it was version 1 or 2. I’d hate to think of what using a browser would be without it.

I’m use it to effortlessly turn on/off cookies, on/off flash, clearing history, clearing cache, turning popups, javascript and images on/off when needed ..... and much more – such as turning background color off when you can’t read the text on a page displayed with a dark background.

Once you customize the toolbar with the options that you’d like to use, it’s just one click to select what you want Prefbar to do. If you don’t want/like the toolbar taking up display space, simply press F8 or F11 to make it disappear ….. and now I see there’s the new PrefBar menu button you can use in lieu of the tool bar.

It’s my #1 Firefox addon. Thanks so much to the developer.

But I cannot understand what must I do...
Is it possible to downgrade from 5ver. to 4ver?
I want to have just one extra menu item with prefbar items

Although the PrefBar add-on web page states: The bar itself may be moved using the browser built-in "toolbar customize" feature to anywhere you like (even in foreign toolbars, next to the menubar, ...).
This is no longer an offered feature in the 5.x version. Reverting to the 4.3.2 version until the developer catches this issue seems to be the only solution for getting back browser screen space

An excellent, time-saving add-on with macros automating routine tasks. One MAJOR complaint - when moving form version 4 to 5,t the single most useful feature allowing PrefBar to be relocated next to the main Firefox drop-down menus, thereby giving considerably more room for the Firefox browser window - this feature was inexplicably lost, much to the dismay of many. Even though this issue has been widely discussed, the developer has seen fit not to fix the problem. Beware the loss of browser screen space. Consider uninstalling version 5 and replacing with version 4 until the problem is handled

This still works. It just works different, now. PrefBar cloned a Firefox feature for a long time to keep compatible with SeaMonkey 1.x. As I dropped support for SM 1.x, I decided to drop my duplicated code and use what Firefox and SM 2.x already has: The built-in toolbar customize feature.

So to move PrefBar's stuff to the menubar, do the following: Enable PrefBar (F8), right-click on the menubar and choose "Customize...". Then you'll see an item "PrefBar toolbar items" lying on PrefBar's toolbar. You may move this via drag&drop to the menubar or anywhere you want it.

Result would be the third screenshot:

I was using it long ago.
I like it very much.
I feel bad about not installed it.
Because I long for the Japanese version, which uses English. Multilingual thank you to all means.
