I prefer this add-on over Firefox' native behavior.

Tip: If you want to open the selected URL in a new tab, just middle-click or CTRL + left click on "Open selected URL" and the link will open in a new tab.

Little tip for opening plain text links in a new tab with Plain Text Links: Right click on link > Middle click on "Open selected URL".

I like that:
- You don't need to select the whole URL, just mouse over it.
- Middle click opens the URL in a new tab.
- Recognizes URLs with hxxp:// and within "", (), []

- It's small, intuitive, easy and unobtrusive.
