It's actually works! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I found this extension after autocomplete in my address bar stopped working. And this addon did exactly what expected - it fixed history database file and now I can be happy again.

Thank you!

Not sure if this is doing anything at all. I run the processes, but when the list says things like this:
> Vacuum
Initial database size is 20480 KiB
+ The database has been vacuumed
Final database size is 20480 KiB

In other words, it looks like it's done nothing at all, especially since that's the exact same number given when I did this a couple days ago. So, what should it be doing, and why doesn't it look it's doing anything?

Your database is already at its minimum size, if its size doesn't change, means it can't be shrinked further.

Good idea except i dont understand what all means.. I dont want to loose or have bad result. I dont want to loose if doesnt work link or duplicate lost on some computer. Give explanation what each option means if not in addon then at least in description.

great tool, but it needs button and "periodic/automatic purging"

Nice add on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you whoever you are for this tool as all my web history just disappeared for an unknown reason and this add on has got me it all back

Great addon! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for this great addon, it fixed all my problems with the bookmark not displaying correctly!

Good, but could use a couple of enhancements Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is a handy tool to have, but not having a button for it (the "Tools" menu would be a good place) makes it easy to forget it's installed. Having to execute the extension from the Tools > Add-ons page is cumbersome. Also the ability to re-size the options window would make it easier to read. I would have brought up these issues in your support forum, but you don't seem to have one (at least no link to one on this page).

The method described in Firefox' documentation did not work but this tool worked perfectly. Thanks, keep up good work!

Praise God! Xmarks has been crashing Firefox for months on several versions and this fixed it! I ran a deep clean and rebuilt the indices and voila! THANKS!!

Documentation would be nice, but worth the gamble. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I still have no clue how this tool works, but am glad I heeded the great reviews here. I ran the full kit [after backing up], & this add-on solved an intolerable problem.

[Also glad I ignored all the advice--including some from Mozilla--suggesting users worry about too many bookmarks, how deeply they're nested, etc. Rubbish. What's the point of a fast PC w/ample RAM if you can't count on it to remember all the stuff you need?]

Extremely Simple, Extremely Practical Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love the extreme simplicity of the UI.

Tool tips for the check boxes will be helpful to non-programmers. For example, what does Expire mean? As of this moment I really don't know what this option does. Although I can look at the source code and figure it out, not everyone is a programmer.

Please explain those options... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This extension needs a BUTTON !
@8writer Please put those instructions up asap, don't keep us in the dark. I haven't used the Vacuum or Expiry options yet, i'm afraid I will vacuum my brains of all that I learned in school, or i may inadvertently expire my life insurance, you know...

I've asked for instructions from MaK77 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Since nobody in the Whole Wide World has posted any instructions or explanation for the options, etc. and how to USE this add-on, I traced back the author to his Italian blog, used Bablefish to translate a page and found an email address. I'll post his reply (if he doesn't post it here, which he probably will).

WONDERFUL THEEEEE..... BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST ........... SO FAR Rated 5 out of 5 stars

What does it do? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I don't know really what this add-on is for, it doesn't explain alot in the description but it's good. I guess.

A nice little add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

So far I like this add-on. Having an older computer that is not entirely capable running all of the applications I want to run at once was a headache. This add-on allows me to keep the hidden memory cleaned up, thus keeping my system from bogging down as frequently as before. My only complaint is that I would love to have a toolbar button that directly linked to the options and executable functions of this add-on.

Does not appear to do much more than this Vaccum Places addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/vacuum-places-improved/?src=collection&collection_id=51f5a192-a51a-4230-bbae-113c77831a21

So far so good. I've got a Huge database so it takes a while to go thorough.
It gives some good info I was aware about.

Thank you

Elminated Firefox hanging issue Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This extension eliminated the hanging Firefox issue I had. After upgrading from 3 to 3.5, FF would suddenly hang or pause when opening a new tab or downloading a file. Consequence upgrades to FF did no fix it.

Running this add-on instantly fixed the problem. Thanks.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1).
