Why would you? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I have to admit my brow was furrowed with the strain of trying to understand why anyone would need this tool and was pleased to see that other people were in agreement with me.

I'm afraid I am with Jorgen and capnbob here and would never design a web page that would look exactly as a static, non functional photoshop prototype, and my clients understand that too (in fact I have never been asked by a single client to develop a site that is exact to the pixel...why would they?).

It is surely impractical and destructive of the fluid, elastic nature of web design?

It sounds to me that those driven to 'pixel perfect' websites may have a touch of OCD and have abandoned all reason! In any case, I would be very interested to know if anyone out there has developed a compliant website that looks exactly the same across all browsers and platforms, because I have neither seen one, nor have I built one, that does that fancy trick...

Print and web design are two very VERY different disciplines. As a traditional print designer, I understand the desire and need for perfectly aligned design, and as a web designer (of which I only claim amateur status), I believe that applies too, but this should be defined differently to allow the beauty of the medium to work for the design. Surely the trick of a good web design is for a site to adjust admirably across all browsers/platforms/systems/monitor sizes for optimal impact and accessibility?

Anyway, I am not undermining the addon itself. And I wanted to decline from the actual 'star rating' altogether, but they wouldn't allow it. From what I understand, the addon does the job it has been designed for rather well. I just don't know why anyone would want to use it... sorry!

I agree that it's a shame to be pixel perfect and increases the codebase, the chance for bugs, and maintainability of css, but this is sometimes the life we live. Pixel Perfect is great at making life so much easier for me.
Pair Pixel Perfect with real time css editing via firebug and yer set.
And thanks so much for making the image remember it's last position even after refreshing the page.

Works well, but should be necessary Not yet rated

I tried the plugin an works like expected, I do however regret the something like this is even necessary to some webdevelopers.

Imho a pixel perfect reproduction of a fixed size photoshop deisgn is impractical and undermining the concepts of *web* deisgn. Webdesigners (of the photoshop kind) need to realize that *web*design is not the same thing as designing for printed media.

Utterly fantastic! I often get layouts pre-designed by clients to translate into HTML. This add-on offers a quick and easy comparison. Brilliant!

Great Idea / Actualization ok Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The idea for this add–on is really great and I've been looking for exactly this kind of tool for quite a while already.
Unfortunately the arrow buttons to "nudge" the overlay by pixel don't really seem to work for me (FF3 o OS X) very well. I can usually click once or twice, after that I'll have to hover off the button and buck on to be able to click again.
This observation is not valid for the "opacity" value.
Besides that the whole menu shows up twice in my FB.

Keep up the good work!

Excellent! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just brilliant - so practical and useful that it's strange no one thought of it before, and so well realized - simple to use, especially because of integration with Firebug - thanks guys!

How did I ever work without it?! Beats the heck out of making the mockup image a background on some throwaway wrapper. Made my day, my week, my year.

As a designer I love that my designs can literally be pixel perfect.

Very cool idea. I can definitely see myself using this in my next project.

I wish I could remove the icon from the lower right corner of the window. Since this has a tab within Firebug, the Firebug icon in the bottom corner should be sufficient.

Added in latest version (0.5.4). Set it in options menu.
