The 'Add Overlay' doesn't appear in version 1.10 of Firebug. You'll need to roll back to version 1.9.2 to get it working again in this case. Otherwise a pretty useful tool, I have found overlay issues when it comes to working with jquery UI dialog boxes as well as the Pixel Perfect panel not resizing along with the Firebug panel. It would be great if we could get controls to be added to the page overlay rather than having it only tucked into the Pixel Perfect panel

Pixel perfect checker Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I really like this tool because this is the best to check pixel perfect code for my design. I found one of the useful free online tool (http://www.cssprecise.csschopper.com/) to check pixel perfect code for design with great features.

Works great with FF8 with this new version. Very happy.

If it would work when FireBug is in the pop-out mode then it would be a 5/5 plugin

There is no analog for this firefox addon yet, but using pixelperfect is no longer possible.
Maybe it's better to not combine Pixelperfect and Firebug?

Is this add-on continued to be developed? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It was really helpful when it worked, and I don't want to go back to FF4. Are there any plans to keep developing the add-on and make it compatible to FF5/6 ?
Thanks

Hotkey support Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great addon! It would be handy to assign a hotkey to toggle on and off the overlay.

Essential but feels uncomplete. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This is an essential plugin but the quality is noticeably lower then other plugins (such as firebug). It still feels Pre-Alpha, although thankfully it wont usually crash your browser. The UI is a bit ugly and limited - it doesn't resize properly with Firebug, If you use it in more then one tab it starts behaving in weird ways, sometimes even requiring a browser restart. For a time the PixelPerfect tab even went blank. Yet I still have to find an equal, free alternative. As I said, this tool is essential, and also popular I guess. It's a bit deceiving and appalling that it's limitations have not been improved yet, and it's been a while.

Thank you for the feedback. Sorry to hear that you're having issues with the plugin.
There are a few things that are not currently supported / have not been properly tested and will be buggy.
1) Only works with one tab
2) Detaching (doesn't work at all)

There is a backlog of improvements (ui, etc), however I am only one person who does this in my free time so updates sometimes take a while. Also if you wouldn't mind filing specific issues on the github page (https://github.com/openhouseconcept/PixelPerfect/issues) that will help me keep track of the outstanding backlog.

Cheers,

Mike

Love the addon! looking forward to firefox 4 version. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Love this addon. Please do your best to release a working version for firefox 4. It's just this plugin and fireQuery keeping me from making the switch right now. Thanks for your work!

Nice addon.
Fixed bug with deleting overlays in my local installation, but how soon will be an official update?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.6).

The next release (1.6.0) which fixes the delete bug and adds a couple of new features is currently in the review process and should be out shortly. Usually it takes 2-3 weeks to get approval from Mozilla Add-ons team.

Feature Request Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Love the extension. But, I have a feature request. Through the "Web Developer" Firefox extension, one can hide images or make them invisible. This is a great first step before overlaying with Pixel Perfect -- good for testing out new mastheads, bg images, etc.

However, when Web Developer makes site images invisible, it also makes the Pixel Perfect overlay invisible. "Hide images" works -- hiding existing images but keeping Pixel Perfect image visible -- but it collapses the space for that image. So, a bust for testing out new mastheads, for example.

Would be great if these 2 extensions could be made to work together. That would be a good 1-2 punch. Or, if Pixel Perfect could incorporate some kind of hiding existing images options.

Delete image layers for WinXP Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If you want to delete the image layers, you can erase the files from:
C:\Documents and Settings\\Datos de programa\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\\extensions\pixelperfectplugin@openhouseconcepts.com\chrome\pixelperfect\content\user_overlays. Inside of that folder there must be the image files. Just erase the content of the folder ... and that's it!
Excelent plugin!

great plugin! i have the same issue, deleting of overlay images does not seem to work (firefox 3.6.2, firebug 1.5.3, pixel perfect 1.5.6, Windows Vista). However i found on Windows you can manually delete the pictures here:
C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\\extensions\pixelperfectplugin@openhouseconcepts.com\chrome\pixelperfect\content
