Fix please! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I agree with capnbob, as a non techy I have absolutely no idea how to add the fix in git hub. Shame, I could really use this too.
Please fix this!

Fix works Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is still an awsome addon for anyone who does web development - it amazes me that firebug have not ported it into the core.

However, I would agree with other posters that the extension has become more and more unstable, which is a shame. On the bright side although the current V1.8 does not work with FF25 the fix suggest in the git hub fork does resolve the issue. However the instructions are non existent and my prove to be impossible for non techies to fathom out. In that respect can I please as the developers to rush out a fresh version?

The add on is taking over firebug
Firebug now opens on the PP screen and often I am unable to switch tabs without selecting an item to inspect

It is the shows as the first window open even thought I disabled it

I had to remove it to stop the page from showing.

It is broken now.

Another point of view Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For everyone who loves this extension and still wants to use it but leave the last updated firefox as is I have a solution that works for me.

1. search on google for a portable firefox version, prefferably old than actual, for example version 13.0.0 you can try with some newer if you want. This doesn't require install or downgrade your current version of Firefox, just run it and when you are done exit. Is the portable version, you can even take it on your usb stick.
2. install pixel perfect and other extensions that you want
3... done :) happy coding

Yes, I know there can be some changes from an old version to the last version of Firefox... but in the visual part firefox is the same, not big changes, I am right?

Doesn't even work. What a waste of time! Frankly, this pisses me off. It shouldn't even be listed in the directory if it doesn't work.

It's really a long time to wait for the new version.I'm using another tool http://dainiel.github.io/1px/ instead.

Sometimes updates to this plug-in take long to be published, but it's great!

Maybe its time to delete this plugin from firefox if you can't fix some issues?

It doesn't work. Overlays can be selected from the filesystem, but they don't display.

Fix for no "Add Overlay" button in newer versions of Firebug Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I've found a fix posted posted here:
https://github.com/openhouseconcept/PixelPerfect/issues/48#issuecomment-7194152

Seems to have worked fine for me. Good luck! Hopefully some day the developer will update the plugin. I saw new versions of the plugin available on GitHub, but these versions had an entirely different (and much worse, in my opinion) interface and didn't seem to function at all.

Was the best addon.

Still pretty buggy Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Unusable for me but I'm giving it a three because when it works it's really helpful. Not working in ff 15.0.1, firebug 1.10.3, OSX 10.8.1. On installation, the overlay panel is visible and I successfully added an overlay (which was successfully added to the proper folder in the extension's file tree) but the checkbox to use the overlay is uncheckable. On restart the overlay image (and any added manually through the filesystem) are not listed and the "Add Overlay" button does not appear.

Poor man's pixel perfect from the console (edit the image path as necessary, uses jquery):

markup = '<div class="db"></div>';
$('body').append(markup);
$('.db').css({ 'z-index' : 999, width: '100%', height : '900px', opacity : '.5', background: '#fff url(/gfx/overlay.png) center top no-repeat', position: 'absolute', left: 0, top: 0})

Can't Add Overlays Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The add overlay section of this add-on does not appear for me - and despite searching I'm unable to find a hack that fixes it.

So...pretty much useless unless this very common problem is fixed.
