Apparently the author's goal was to make this "toolbar" function like the search bar. As such, it always appears at the bottom of the screen, you have to press F4 to make it visible and ESC to make it disappear. I don't like that.
What I was expecting was a bona fide toolbar that would appear near the top of the window with the other toolbars. I was also expecting to be able to right-click on the toolbar and get the toolbar menu where I could enable or disable it.
Had an issue with it not showing up a while back on FF 11. But having synch'd the machine (FF sync) from a Windows XP machine I had just installed the plugin on to try on, it is now working fine. I would think this is more likely to be FF's fault. Developer responded very quickly - thanks!
Very useful tool stops having to hit Google all the time. Thanks a lot.
Hello there! Thanks for your feedback. About that error...if you update the PHPDevBar, it should NOT be performing requisitions to felipenmoura.org, but to phpdevbar.org! Although, I'll check it out to see if I find any possible error(I'm already working on an update to get compatible to the next Firefox beta version).
It really doesn't suit me to have web-dev tools in the lower left of my screen (where I keep other stuff) - I want to be able to move the toolbar to the top, remove buttons and change the Ctrl+Shift+F hotkey; that one is used by the Web Developer toolbar too, by the way...
Plus, it's a small set of tools taking up a fraction of my wide screen monitor, but I can't add any more buttons to the toolbar they are on, unlike the Web Developer toolbar, which allows you to fill the rest of it up.
Thanks for your feedback. Trying to help you using it, I want to tell you that you can use the F4 hotkey as well, to open the phpdevbar, which I'd advise to close after using(esc can do this job). Just to explain a bit more, we tried to give the PHPDevBar a behavior similar to the native "find" tool, which opens with F3, closes with esc, has just some specific/useful tools, and also, which you keep most of the time closed, showing it only when you need it.
I'll take a look about this idea of yours, to add buttons to it and how I could enable that to this kind of element. Again, all the feedback is quite welcome and we keep a lot of opened channels for communication(twitter, e-mail, website, facebook, etc), feel free to get in touch(no need to give us 2 stars before sending a feedback, next time, though), we will hear you and do our best to improve this addon, specially because the users and communities are exactly what make this addon better.
We will work on what you said and do our best to increase its quality and accessibility. Thanks for your feedback.
The add-on work properly on Firefox 4, but the toolbar is not customizable, after installation, the toolbar appear below the address bar, but if you show toolbar through toogle button, it appear above the address bar instead, and it's quite annoying.
I hope the toolbar will be more customizable in the next version.
When i tested your addon with Firefox 3.6.6 in fullscreen mode (F11), i see a thick gray bar on top of my screen (with no visible functionality).
After i disabled your extension, the gray bar was gone!
Tweaking userchrome.css with the usual hacks found on Google did not help. Please review your extension, if necessary with non-standard screen resolutions (mine was 1400 x 1050 as i am using a laptop)... Thanks.
Hello there. We have fixed that problem in a few updates ago. We also changed the look of it and increased its performance. Could you confirm if it's working fine now for you? I hope you can enjoy it and find it useful.
All the feedback, ideas, suggestions and criticisms are welcome. Thanks
Felipe, I have pasted a partial, and initial technical review for you here - http://groups.google.com/group/addons-development-brazil/browse_thread/thread/6cb9dd7fc7cea8ae
