You love this add-on or you would not be so upset that it is not working. Cut the author some slack. He is at the mercy of whatever changes PhotoBucket makes and I am sure they do not give him a heads up. Let him know you appreciate his effort. Nobody appreciates the whining.
Stopped working for me last night also. I emailed the developer and waiting to hear back.
Update 3/6 can't login
I apologize if you are not able to log in right now and any inconvenience it may be causing. I am aware of the problem and currently in communication with Photobucket to get this resolved. Turnaround time on this should be no more than a couple days.
A+ A+ A+ A+ -- So glad this indispensable add-on is back up and running. As the saying goes " you don't know what you've got till it's gone" is so apt. So a big shout out to Mattyk++ for his sterling work - I only gave this add-on 5 stars because, they wont allow Me to give it more. even 10 wouldn't be enough - Easily one of the best and most useful add-ons for FF
This is one of my favorite add-ons and I was so upset when it died a few weeks ago. But it's been updated and now it works again!
All sorted and working again :)
5/5 when it was working. obv 0 now it's not. good to hear it might be back soon.
in the meantime, just use the imgur add-on. which i have nothing to with.
I had emailed the person that maintains this plug-in, and I got this in response to my email today.
I have just submitted a fix for this to Mozilla today. It should be live in the next couple days
Hopefully, we'll all be up & running again in just a few days! :D
Here's what Photobucket had to say about this add-on...
«Due to reasons outside of our control, the Firefox Photobucket Uploader extension will no longer be functioning. The Firefox Photobucket Uploader is a third party app, meaning that it is not a tool that Photobucket created. We have made various code updates, we do not maintain this tool and therefore cannot update it. What you will want to do is use the URL uploader in place of the extension. The steps to upload via URL can be found below.»
That's too bad and I do hope they get working on extensions of their own!
waste of time
only gave it 1 star b/c 0 stars isn't an option
Don't download. Isn't compatible with the new Photobucket. Hasn't been updated since 2011, so I'm guessing it's an orphaned add-on. Too bad. Was a good one.
Why has this wonderful add-on quit working. I loved it it was so easy to add pictures to Photobuckets horrendous new website.
I am confused, Why are people saying it quit with the latest Firefox update. I am on Firefox 19.0.2 and it quit on me. Last week it worked and today it quit on me.
So much for the inventor keeping it updated and on top of it.
The only reason I gave it 1 star, is because zero stars is not an option. No addon is worth 1 star, if the developer doesnt keep on top of it, and keep it updated. As stated below..... THIS ADDON WILL NOT WORK!!!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT!!! Photobucket made changes in the code on their site, they are NOT responsible for this addon, the developer.... mattyk++ is. For a couple weeks now, the addon cannot even login to PB due to the change they implemented in their code. mattyk++ has abandoned his addon, and this addon should not even be here for people to download. Mozilla is going in the crapper. They allow crap to be downloaded, that doesnt even work with their browser. Its a joke
I'm starting to hate Photobucket. I love this app, its SO useful, but not its fucked and no longer works? And photobucket is only getting worse and worse. More cluttered, slower, with less and less options..
...Would stop coming out with updates every few weeks. For one, the browser is beginning to be a huge program that causes severe strain on system resources.
Secondly, wonderful apps like this stop working with each new version of FF. Considering the huge pain in the backside Photobucket has created with their new GUI, Photobucket Upload saves time and energy getting graphics found/created on the web to your account. It also removes the difficult navigation problems.
(And Photobucket, please bring back the 'View All' in albums. ...Says a user who has been with you guys for over 8 years.)
Sniff! It quit working with the latest Firefox update. I am bummed beyond belief over this. Ashes and sack cloth for a day or two after it quit working. One minute it worked like a charm and the next upload it was kaput. It had a few quirks like not being able to change PB accounts but otherwise it was GREAT. I find nothing similar for Photobucket in IE either. It was a great tool that I used every day!
With the recent Firefox update to 20.0, this add on stopped working. It doesn't say it's no longer compatible with Firefox but it seems I am not alone in this. This is a great little add on and I enjoy using it when the opportunity presents itself.
Loved this app and used it all the time. Really hope it gets fixed.
I never had a problem with this app until today. I can't log in anymore. When I click 'uploader login' or use the menu to try and login, nothing happens. I hope this gets fixed, I upload pictures to my account all the time.
@"WR", thank you for the tip. I found another way to change it, too: if you show the Menu Bar, Photobucket Uploader should be an item under "Tools" (if it's not, the Menu Editor extension can make it one), and there it has the ability to log out of your account. Not so obvious, but it's definitely there, and now I have this app working for me just the way I like it!
I had this on my computer and it was working great. Loved it! But then I did a factory reset on my computer and when I downloaded Firefox, I got version 19. When I've tried, repeatedly, to install this with version 19, it appears on my list of add-ons, but doesn't appear in my menu when I do a right click. Can't use if it isn't on my menu. What a bummer!
@"pidgezero_one" and "scale":
the problem here seems to be that the extension stores photobucket log-in info in the fx profile file "prefs.js" which is a *permanent* record of user preferences for extension behaviour (and therefore completely the wrong place to store anything that a user has not specifically permanently preferred!). Only preferences that a user can change via an extension interface should be stored there.
Deleting "pref.js" is a fix with an obvious downside (deletes all "real" preferences). Editing "prefs.js" to remove all reference to "pb upload/upload pb/pb" has less consequence but might be a bit time consuming.
Note to developer
Where are you mattyk++ ?
You need to fix this absurdity.
Please remove the "not-feature" that stores a single login for ever and a day. It is not required and makes an otherwise excellent extension unusable for the thousands or more who legitimately run multiple PB image storage accounts.
After the first time, I can't change the settings for the add-on.
Works flawlessly for me, great addon!
