Update Available Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I don't know how many of you visit the MozillaZine forum thread for this extension, but just in case you haven't, please know that there is an update for Firefox 4+ available here:

This version treats the permatab more like an App Tab, but keep in mind it is still very much a beta.

On that note, Permatabs Mod has been made available on GitHub for modification by the community. The source can be found at the GitHub page:

We are sorry that this hasn't updated as much as we would have liked, but deos has had a hard time keeping up with it due to real life concerns (even with what help I can provide on the support front). He does what he can, but we could use all the help we can get (especially if you have experience writing Firefox extensions).

If you have an interest in seeing this extension stay alive, feel free to come on by the thread and help out; any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks.

Shrink tabs to size of favicon Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great addon, it's really useful when you have a certain number of websites you visit often. Think of sites like Social Networks, blogs and actualities like the local newspapers' sites.

If I may make a suggestion to the developers: please add the option to only show the website's favicon and to shrink the width of the tab when another tab is active. This will create more space in the tab bar if you have 3 or more tabs 'pinned' as permanent.

As soon as this option is added, PermaTabs deserves 5 stars! ;-)

Time for PermaTabs for Firefox 4 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Pin as App Tab is dysfunctional if it is tied tied to the browsers history. Reason: If you set Firefox to remember browser history and then close Firefox with tabs open to different webpages the next time you open Firefox it will load all the tabs that were open at the end of your last session. Effectively the only thing Pin as App Tab does is make a smaller tab.
What should happen is Pin as App Tab should allow you to clear browser history and the Pinned Tabs should be pinned and reloaded each time as a new session unless unpinned like Permanent Tab extension use to do.
Right now Pin as App Tab should be called make Tab Smaller.

A disabling session restore feature would be nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great add-on but, please, is there any way to prevent perma-tabs from going to another URL if a new address in mistakenly entered in the address bar?

could you please contact me with mail or in the forum? this could be a bug you are talking about

Great plugin. If anyone feels memory use is now an issue, they might want to try "Tab Utilities" plug-in which adds a few more options for less bloat.

I don't appreciate having my computer spammed with permanent links to and the NY Times. I won't be using your addon.

just close them

those pages are just random example permatabs which get added on first install, you can un-permatab and close them with a few clicks

Perfect, exactly what I needed!

Stumbleupon problem Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I am not sure if its a bug but, when on a permatab and i click the stumble button for stumbleUpOn, the site loads inside the perma tab
