Don't install, just go to https://www.pdfescape.com/windows/ . It works pretty well.
Somehow, my wife accidentally got PDFescape while working with Shutterfly. It changed her homepage and was a pain to get rid of.
I have had nothing but success with this program. I imagine you have to "know" hot to use a cmfputer.
has no effect on firefox at all.
Made no difference upon install. Do not install.
It showed up in the Tools tab but that's it.pdf docs still opened in FF in Acrobat and so I had to save the document to my computer then to go the PDFescape Website manually and download the document. It finds the form fields to fill out well, but that is it. It has no word processing capabilities at all. You might as well print out the form and use your typewriter. You can't cut/copy/paste or do anything else but type in the fields. It generates a stupid looking final form with all the fields you filled in having colored boxes. You may be able to change the box colors to white so the final form looks professional but I was in a hurry and it wasn't obvious how. It shows you misspellings but I could not figure out how to get to the correct spellings to replace. The support is non existent.
It's an entirely useless Add-on. Does nothing - at all. No change whatsoever to anything anywhere in Firefox except to clutter up the Add-ons page. Is there a point to this add-on?
It's like receiving an empty PDF. What's the point?
I hate to write poor reviews, but the PDFescape Extension did nothing. It gave me absolutely no control over the pdf document. I was unable to edit anything.
Doesn't save properly, so I lose whatever file I just created. Support is slow to respond and I could not view the trouble ticket in their system.
Sorry, did not work. No button, either. Have to uninstall.
I entered the recommended site http://www.pdfescape.com and registered here (it isn't mandatory).
This site fully served me - I uploaded my pdf file and could edit it - to add the text, to erase the part of the text, to add circle etc.
I bookmarked this site and don't understand why I need this addon itself - the bookmark is fully enough.
I thank Red Software for a link to an excellent service
The claim that PDFescape can "open and edit PDF files & forms online" means strictly online. If you open a local PDF file with Firefox, PDFescape is not activated. Only if you click a link to a PDF online, do you have the option "Open/Edit in PDFescape". When I tried a PDF link hosted on my own local web server, this option was greyed-out. So, it seems that documents on your own machine are strictly off-limits.
In the editor, modifying existing text doesn't really work. At best, you can overprint your own text on the PDF page, which might be OK to fill in an online form. The Annotation feature works well enough.
Oh well. The price is right.
Not the most user-friendly of add-ons. Doesn't seem to do anything at first. You have to browse to www.pdfescape.com to open any PDF files either online or from your PC. But as an integrated cloud solution this is pretty decent with its tiny browser footprint.
Compare with Google Docs which relies on Adobe Reader for its advanced functions e.g. printing. PDFescape doesn't rely on Adobe at all.
Also consider Foxit Reader as a replacement standalone reader, but that is much bigger than PDFescape.
Works reasonably well, but not easy to use or completely reliable. Have uninstalled.
This extension doesn't seem to work. With the Adobe Reader plugin disabled and this add-on enabled, PDFs are directed to be downloaded. There are no buttons or menus associated with this add-on that get added to the browser. Had to enabled Adobe to view the PDFs.
Other PDF add-ons have other issues, but at least they all opened PDFs. This one is worthless. (Win 7/ 64 bit)
This addon works like a charm ,very easy and powerfull
Excellent free pdf editor. fills out my forms. Does more than adobe acorbat reader.
i'm happy, can't beat the price
This add-on slows down your browser speed dramaticly!!! Keep away!!!
It does everything I need: appends files, sticky notes, can open PDFs in view or edit style pages...
prety much everything I need it do.
When a program takes over your browser, thats worse than having a trojan or malware on your computer. This program makes you register (otherwise, it keeps nagging you) and once you are done, it wont let you back to the page you found the PDF on. Talk about USER UNFRIENDLY!
It only took me one try to decide to delete it from my Firefox.
Great little add-on. Easy to use and love the price =)
unless you are a complete boob, this is what it says it is. what do people expect from a free program? is giving a fake email address or (god forbid) having to log in really that bad? considering the cost of Acrobat, this is a fine alternative.
Nags you to register. I don't like it just on principal.
I have been working with a year old version (and the product is only 1yr7mo old) and, while it is VERY cumbersome to use, and did not have documentation (the current v0.13, which I JUST installed, claims to have online Help), it is MUCH better than *nothing*. I have four health insurance coverages, and this let me fill out my basic information VERY legibly, saving drudgery and sloppiness.
I am considering the desktop, expanded version, PDFTypewriter.
