  • Updating to Firefox 33.1.1 has automatically "disabled" pastego 2.0.4. (It worked OK with Firefox 33.1.)

    I tried access the support site (http://dinojerm.acm.jhu.edu/firefox/), but the connection to that site always "times out".

    Please update this important Firefox Add-on, so it works with the latest Firefox 33.1.1+ versions. Thank you.

  • Are you still supporting this add-on?
    I have a small improvement I'd be glad to send you. It's to detect a list of URLs & open a tab for each one.

  • Best Add-On ever.

  • The Pastego button should have an extra functionality: "search for the pasted text if it's not a URL" because user may want to use the address bar search engine which may be different from the default one on the search bar.

  • Not nearly as easy to use as Paste And Go was. Why was that discontinued?????

  • need "Open links in new tab background" ,thanks

  • The biggest problem with this extension for me is that when pasting to the search box, it does not show the text, it only searches for it. Therefore the same search or alteration of it cannot be done with another search engine.An older extension that I used with FF 3.5 did paste the text to the search box which worked far better for me.

    I'm using FF 3.6.22

  • Very time-saving and useful.Thanks!

  • Excellent ! Please add a choice of Middleclick or Rightclick for url to be copied and opened in new tab but do NOT go to url.
    Thankyou ! I will change my review to 5 stars with this feature implemented.

  • I don't need pastego in my context menu b/c there's already a Search entry, and I use another Add-on for plain-text URLs. What I would like though is a homepage that works or some other way to contact the author (dinojerm.acm.jhu.edu isn't working), and I'd like this Add-on to have an open source license. I put the icons in my address bar beside the address box and the search box. I think they work great because I've never had any problems. A button for clearing the search box would be good b/c changing the search engine selects the text, and that replaces the clipboard in Linux.

  • if you can please add "Paste & Go) to right click menu.. it's the only thing I like in Chrome. :)

  • Fully agree with NikDaMark. It's unusable without context menu "Paste&Go" item.

  • Not useful at all without the option via right click context menu in the url & search bar.

    Opera was the innovator of this and also there is this add-on but not for version 3.6, unfortunately.

    Please add it if possible.

  • Hi!
    When will be compatibility with
    Firefox 3.6 Beta 1 [or higher]?
    Best Regards
    Grzegorz

  • Hi!
    Can you make one feature?
    When click middle mouse button on "paste and go"(and "paste and serch") result will open in opened tab(Its better then using preferences). Its will be good to use Alt+click for opening in background an foreground tabs.

  • 可否把UI改为放在地址栏的右键菜单里而不是两个按钮

  • Will there be a updated version for Fx3.5 available soon?

  • Very useful. But I miss the option to choose "Paste and Go" / "Paste and Search" via right-click context menu in the url/search field.

  • I'm on FX 3.0.7 and it works great, I don't think you can get away with fewer clicks to load an external text url! Thank you!

  • Perhaps I have missed something about this add-on, but it does not appear to work with FX 3.0.6 at all.

    I have rated the add-on only because I am required to do so to post. The low rating reflects the current non-working status, not the concept. I hope the developer will work on this. At the present time, I am still using Paste and Go 2 even though it is supposedly not compatible.

    I am unable to understand why the developers of the browser continue to fail to incorporate a number of basic features such as this in the browser from the outset. In my view, their inaction makes the browser less desirable to the many potential users who are unwilling to become involved in the process of installing add-ons.

  • Sometimes, in some forums, to avoid referrer tracking, people will post URLs that start off like "hxxp://" etc.
    If you could change your code (a la what asdf suggests above/below):
    in overlay.js, after:
    var u=readFromClipboard();
    add:
    u = u.replace(/^h([a-z]{2})p\:(.*)/i, "http:\2");
    so that anything between "h" and "p" gets translated to "http"
    Much obliged...

  • Could you please give me which JavaScript code should I put into Firegestures to have this functionality as a mouse gesture?

  • eh, just seeing if it would worked, I added the following line to overlay.js (find the pastego.jar in your .mozilla, then `jar xf pastego.jar`, then edit content/overlay.js, then move out the old jar and repack with `jar cf pastego.jar *`) after var u=readFromClipboard(); :

    u = 'http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=' + u;

    simple enough. kinda breaks the whole 'go' feature though but this will work for me.

  • It would be very useful to me to click the button and not just go to the url, but to search google with the contents of the clipboard. Often using linux (where anything you highlight goes onto the clipboard) I'll find myself having to tab over to the search area, then delete the last search, then paste in the new terms.

    edit: added this line in overlay.js:

    var u=readFromClipboard();
    u = 'http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=' + u;

    and it works.

  • Since the paste and go add-on stopped working for ff3 i needed a new one and this was it.
