Couple of Issues Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Hi David. Hope this is the best way of contacting you. I like the way you've implemented this, but there's two things that don't seem to work:

1) The tabs that were closed as a result of hitting the 'panic key / button' don't in fact restore. The 'restore key' only restores the home page as in a 'fresh' browser restart.

2) Many chat rooms these days spawn Java pop-up windows. These don't always get closed when hitting the 'panic key / button'. This is something that does seem to work with the 'Panic Button' extension, but the options in 'Panic' are more flexible. Is this something you could look at?

Thanks

Hopefully you can try this and post back with an update? Thanks.

REALLY GREAT, BUT WHAT IS NEEDED IS A BUTTON TO CUT OFF THE NETWORK BUTTON. IN CASE A OPENED SITE IS TRYING TO DOWNLOAD BAD SOFTWARE.

This is great, thanks, except I can't go back to my old tabs "once the boss is away"...

....

I don't wanna seem rude here, but did you read the description of this or possibly access the settings to this extension? It allows you to specify what keys you want to restore the closed tabs...

Add a whitelist to be perfect? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very nice concept, but it would be nice if I could whitelist tabs that should not close.

Usually, if the weakness strikes and I am goofing off, I will have open 3 - 5 genuine serious work related links (mostly on one domain, i.e., our intranet, but maybe also some suppliers' sites), plus of course all the bad ones (usually, a Wikipedia article I looked up for a serious work-related purpose, followed by a link trail of a dozen others, and a few external links, which lead to ...)

I don't want to show the boss just one page with no work on it if I actually have several real work ones already open. Or worse if he asks me about something on the intranet, at present it seems I have to bring back the whole lot to get back the work-related page I was already on.

So, a whitelist by domain or individual page name would be a great enhancement to an already excellent addon. Thanks!

I love the extension... however, when I close all tabs and return to my home page, the home page continually reloads unless I click 'stop'. I'm not sure if this is the Panic extension, or if it is the fact that I also have the SEOQuake extension installed, or if it is something with the two together. Perhaps something else entirely! In any event, great extension!

Hmmmm.

I would recommend you disable your SEOQuake addon and test it. If there is a problem you might find it there but I have not heard of any of those types of errors. Let me know.

Thanks.

Works way too slow. the time it takes to close all tabs and to log in on to the panic URL tab, is about 10 precious seconds.

Your browser

The extension is about a small of an extension as you can possible get. It is your browser that is acting slow, not the extension.

Crashes on FF 3.5 after it switches tabs. could be another add-on conflict. but if it didn't crash i'll have like it !!

Waiting review from Mozilla

Yeah sorry about that. It has been pending a review from the Mozilla staff for about 5 days now. Hopefully someone gets around to approving it soon. The new version fixes the problem.

Prospects Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Only given 3 stars as when the panic button is activated it shows all the windows that are closing. preferably minimise then group all tabs or hide all whilst showing the 'panic page'

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3.6).

Picky Picky

Picky picky are we? I don't understand why I would only get 3 stars for doing exactly what the description states. No where in the description does it lead you to believe what you just stated. This extension shouldn't be penalized because you're picky.

Amazing Addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

this is one of the greatest addons. I love it its very useful and easy to you just press alt + ` and all your tabs disappear, then once that person leaves your press ctrl + ~ and all your tabs are back where they where without any hassle at all ~ I recommend this to everyone!!!

I was looking for a "close all tabs and gimme only a nice blank one" extension; this one just does it quite nicely. Tank you!
I like the ability to customize the hotkey and the default web page displayed after all is closed :-)

Another bug ?? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I have found when ever any kind of video activity on a given page, swapping of JPEGs or streaming videos, PANIC does nothing. When all tabs are static, it functions as advertised.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3.4).

Not Bug, User Error

If you have clicked on a streaming video such as the play button or pause button, the shortcut keys do not work, not just panic but all keys. Try pushing Ctrl+w to close the tab and it will not work. If you have video and you click the actual panic button, it WILL work.

Very nice, works great but i agree Hal Wilke, why not just "hide" the tabs (if that's possible) so we wont have to open the closed tabs. Also, why not just select the tabs you wish to close and have a whitelist of tabs that shouldn't be closed? just thinking. But then again, good job, keept it up

feature request Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I am digging the concept of this addon. The one thing I would like to see would be the ability to reopen the tabs that were closed. I'd hate to hve ten tabs open, Panic, and then have to manually recreate the previous state.
