Be careful with old versions!
These versions are displayed for reference and testing purposes. You should always use the latest version of an add-on.
For sites with Extended Validation status (sites that have a green identity button), in addition to the padlock icon, a small passport icon will be shown.
It is possible to always display a warning icon (for example an open black padlock) whenever no security is being used.
It is possible to enable background highlighting for the location bar.
Added option to highlight the background of the urlbar. (The separate yellow-urlbar addon is no longer necessary.)
Added option to disable the padlock - this makes it possible to use only the anti-padlock or the urlbar highlight.
The default is still unchanged. If you install the addon, but don't change any of the preferences, you will get the same behaviour as in version 0.1.2 of the padlock addon.
Fixed a Firefox 5 compatibility issue.
Also, from now on, for my addons created after 2011-05-26, I will SIGN my addons. That is, if you install my addon, instead of "author not verified", the installation dialog should display (Kai Engert).
Assuming that "padlock" means "SSL with at least basic domain validation", I propose an icon "padlock + passport" for "SSL with extended validation".
