Other Addon 0.2.1
This is a Firefox add-on that serves two functions. First, it adds buttons for common search engines. Second, if you highlight a word or phrase on a web page and press a combination of keys, it will either open a Wikipedia or Wiktionary overlay.
About this Add-on
The reason I made this app is because I used to use two older plugins that are now obsolete: the google toolbar and Wikilook ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/wikilook/ ). These two add-ons saved enormous amounts of time and I was frustrated that they went away so I made some sort of replacement. Also highly suggested is SearchWP ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchwp/?src=userprofile ).
Recompiled the app with the latest version of the add-on sdk
This add-on had stopped working with v38 and on. I just now found time to recompile it using the latest version of jQuery and got rid of the iframe layover that was dependent on mouse position. I replaced that with a fixed CSS div wrapper. I also updated the search URL buttons with https for google scholar and bing because they used to not use secure and added yahoo to the list.
