Works in 3.5 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a great plugin!

It works fine in 3..5 too. You simply need to unzip the open_in_ie-1.1-fx-win.xpi file, change the following line in the install.rdf file via Notepad:

3.0.*

to

3.5.*

then add it back to the .xpi. Double click the .xpi or drag and drop it to your Firefox window and presto!

Can't install for new version of Firefox Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Can you please make a version that works with Firefox 3.5? I can't install the older version, and I really liked it since Netflix only shows their movies in IE.

Works fine, but Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Works fine. When a site pops up "needed" IE, you can just right click and open IE.

But how about making one where it FOOLS IE into thinking Firefox WAS IE? Many of these web sites have that door blocker from the early days of Firefox and the same web site would work just fine today with Firefox if you could just get past the gatekeeper!

Works as described. When I right-click on a link, I see the option "Open Link in IE."
And it does open in IE.

Not working Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Doesn't work for me, Vista Home Premium 64bit. Was working fine whenI had XP a couple of days ago, I used it all the time.

This is pretty good add-on, but it is missing many of the features available from other add-ons open links in IE. I found that IE Tab can open pages in IE (using the "Open In Ext"), but also allows me to specify site masks to force the page to be opening in IE or an IE tab so that I don't have to keep track of what site do/don't work in FireFox.

Launchy (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/81) provides a similar solution -- however it can open the current page in IE, but is inexplicably unable to open links in IE. We would very much like one extension that does both!

You got it!

I just released version 1.2, which contains the functionality you requested. In addition to the right-click menu option, I added a toolbar button that can be clicked to open the current page in an IE window. Also, you can use the key combination Ctrl+Shift+I to open the current page in IE. Thanks for the suggestions, and please enjoy the new version!

Right click. . . Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This add-on is very useful once you find/use it. The option isn't in the tools menu like the old Open in Explorer. So to use the option right click the link that you want to open and the menu shows "Open in IE" in the list.

This tool works fine. I have been searching a while how it works, you should have explained it. I first thought the function could open the current page in Firefox, but it seems to work only for links. \r\nHOW IT WORKS:\r\nIf you right-click on a link, you will see the option \"Open Link in IE\". \r\n

No idea how this works, so gave it the benefit of the doubt and three stars.

Took me a while to (re)find but IE View does the trick just fine.
