Периодами очень выручает.
Great little add-on that I use many times a day - just works!!!
But PLEASE, make this compatible with Web extensions and FF 57+ ...
work simple function to call IE, I still use this add-on for many years.
Just please made an update to be compatible with Web extensions and FF 57++
This tool does NOT work as described in FF 54.0.1 (32-bit Win 8.1). I couldn't find it on the right-click menu when clicking on a link and it isn't available in any tool bars. However, I did sit show up when in "standard" mode of FF and right-clicking on a link. This won't do. Now I'm getting a C++ run-time error when it does start up IE. Ok, that enough for me.
Was really hoping to get this to automagically open IE whenever I open certain company Intranet sites, however neither of the domains I tried entering into the options menu seem to work on FF 54.0.1. Not the end of the world, since I can click the IE icon on the toolbar but still frustrating. Hopefully a fix comes in the near future, then this will be a 5 star add-on.
Edit: So, it works when you click on a link on the page. Doesn't work when you click on a bookmark. Doesn't work when you click on a link from another application (Outlook).
That's what I was looking for, opens any links fine, comparing with poorly coded alternatives. (FF 54.0.1)
Works good only wish it worked when right clicking on bookmarks or url in the search bar.
Creates the right-click menu (and toolbar icon) to open a page in IE, but ... doesn't behave well with "IE View" addon, having "use domain list" checked but with blank domain list opens ALL links in IE, and default version of IE linked is hardcoded to 64-bit version (under Windows' PF dir), not the preferred 32-bit IE under the PF(x86) dir.
Doesn't appear to work under Ver 45.0.1. None of the ways to make work, work
Old school - open, copy, paste, enter...now one click.
Add feature - when open link from other program (mail client etc) catch link, compare with domain list and, if got it in domain list, at once open in IE. Thank you for your work at this plugin
First of all, this is a very nicely done addon. Thank you for it!
Second, one issue I have, is the opening all with IE, should be an option set when installed, and up to the person. I only found this, when Microsoft Community links kept opening in IE and not FF.
Does not work in FF 41.0, at least not for me. "Open in IE" does not appear in right-click drop down menu for my Bookmarks. I've rolled back to previous version 1.41 and it works fine.
The beauty of this add-on used to be that you could configure it to automatically open up a requested website in IE, or do that on demand. The latest versions of Firefox appear to be incompatible with the use of the domain list function, and thus the usefulness of this add-on is greatly reduced for me.
Unfortunately, as of Firefox 26 the "domain list" feature no longer works. Any site you put in the domain list will simply be loaded in Firefox normally. You need to right-click link, "Open in IE", to open it in IE (just like the previous versions).
This addon looks for IE on an x64 directory on a 32 bit machine.
The default setting is for the add-on to launch IE from the "Program Files (x86)" directory, which you accurately pointed out is specific to 64-bit Windows installations. However the path is configurable in the add-on Options dialog (Firefox > Add-Ons > Extensions > Open in IE > Click "Options" button). On the 32-bit windows, the correct path would be "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe".
Alas, refuses to work in Fx18.0b1 and Fx19.0a2. Though the "concurrent" (Open With) works fine.
Works beautifully for me.
I prefer going to IE rather than using the IE engine within Firefox, so this is great.
I miss one important feature: I'd like for Open in IE to have an option to remember sites I want to always open in IE. Some of the "fancier" IE plug-ins have this option, I don't need or want a bunch of options - Just the ability to remember which sites I always want to open in IE
For now, I'd rather use this plug-in than to install one of the more bloated ones just to get this one feature.
The most requested feature for this add-on is going to become a reality very soon. The ability to set certain sites to always open in IE will be in version 1.4, which is currently being reviewed by Mozilla testers and should be available soon!
I want to know how to open IE(x86) in waterfox15(x64).
I love this app. Like the developer, I found myself often manually copying URLs, opening IE and then pasting the URL. It's a hassle and this is the perfect anecdote.
I have one feature request. PLEASE add the functionality so I can right click on page in FF and choose, "Open this page in IE." Often times I visit a site, notice it doesn't render properly and would like a simple right click functionality to open the page that I'm on in IE. Thanks!!
I found that IE Tab+ didn't work on 64 bit Waterfox, so I tried Open in IE instead, and it works great and does exactly what I need. thanks!
should add list of pages to always open in IE like, windows update
or any other page that doesn't work in FF. Other than that it's a great extension.
I like add-ons that don't over think things, and this one suits my needs fine.
One question though, is there an option to launch items as a new tab in IE if it is already open? I have multiple things that I sometimes need to run at once that need IE and I launch them from a page in Firefox. If possible, I'd rather not have multiple instances of IE get launched in the process.
Хорошо если б организовали опцию выбора между IE x64 и x32
P.S. Thanks batstoo!
Great, just what I needed. Cheers/
