Very useful for dealing with problem sites.
Thanks a lot, that had been quite annoying for some time!
It should be built-in to the browser. What more can be said?
Great addon! However, as other people have said, it would be good if you could have it remember your answer based on the mime type of the file.
I do lots of debugging with "application/json" and it would be nice if it always opened them as text.
Great extension. It would be nice if you could add a setting to always open URLs matching a string or regex as a certain content-type.
For instance, I would want all URLs matching /\.sql$/ to display in the browser window as text/plain by default, without opening the custom download window.
This is great but difficult to use w/o an option to open the file in another tab or browser window.
Ignore my earlier review.
I can't download this in OS X. I get the invalid file hash message (-261). Works fine on the PC. Both have FF 3.0.3, I'm running OS X 1.4.11 (I love it on the PC)
Excellent, never again a misconfigured web server will force me to download a file I know that firefox can perfectly handle.
Just searched for such an addon and i found this slim little helper.
Absolutely perfect, this is a must-have addon and it shouldn't be marked as experimental.
Especially useful for browsing file listings (e.g. 'Index of /foo')
I've been looking for such extension for a very long time. Finding this one just made my day!
Mozilla/firefox devs haven't fixed a related bug for nearly 8 years now, but this extension does that... Too bad it's marked experimental and requires login for people to install.
Simple, clean, does what it says on the tin.
I've just installed this and tried it out, it's wonderful! For quite some time, I've wished that I could "open" rather than "save" text and image files that servers try to force me to download, and this solves that problem perfectly!
I hope this can get out of experimental soon seems only to have minor issues, I have not had a single problem!
I was looking thru addon for exactly this and am now glad that it is possable!
Thanks GiliS! Why on earth mozilla make it so darn difficult :( It's as if they are trying to stop me using it! I'm a big boy now and can make decisions for myself!
Temporarily enable 3rd-party cookies in the privacy preferences
Very nice idea, but it breaks FlashGot. :(
I've found this immensely useful for so many misconfigured servers. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it has yet to add an option for gzipped files that are not served with the
Content-Encoding: gzip header. I have yet to find any free web host for instance that properly serves .svgz files, like at http://www.archive.org/download/Periodic_Spiral_of_Elements/elementspiral.svgz which firefox could view natively if this extension detected or gave an option to set gzip as the content encoding.
