  • Please allow this option in the new Firefox Quantum!!!
  • Está bien ideada. No entiendo por qué la dieron de baja.
  • With Firefox Quantum you can enable this easily in about:config now.

-Go to about:config in your address bar. Accept the warning message.
    -Search for browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs
-Change it from false to true

Your bookmarks will now open in new tabs without the need for an extension.

  • We need it back!
    Please update for FF57!
  • It's not needed, this Add-on!..:) Check out the solution, on the Mozilla Support Forum; thread is called: "Open Library in a new Tab" & the URL is @https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/974185

Basically, two bookmarks can be created - for two (!) different views of the Library, load the URLs from the Address Bar:

    1) chrome://browser/content/places/places.xul
    2) chrome://browser/content/bookmarks/bookmarksPanel.xul

    Enjoy!! :))
  • need for quantum
  • This is an awesome extension. It works so smoothly that I only noticed it is a legacy add on once I tried the new FF Quantum.
I'm not a happy camper right now, as I don't feel comfortable changing the settings of FF, that's why I use add ons.
For now I moved back to FF 56, but could you please update ?!?!?!
    Thanks bunches in advance!!!
  • great add on please adapt it to new firefox quantum!!! totally worth 5 stars and will give it if adapted
  • Doesn't work with FF57, but to regain the functionality create a Boolean 'browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs' in about:config and set it to true.
  • Me encanta esta extensión, lo que no me gusta es que no sea compatible con la version Quantum de Firefox y te la quiten sin decir nada!
  • Love the fact that I don't have to right click to open bookmarks in a new tab, really wish this was built into firefox with the option to not use it for people who don't want to. Hope this gets updated to work with Quantum!
  • Reduntant now but want to say thanks for the plugin. Made a big difference to the browsing experience for me as I don't use back/forward, but just open/close new tabs.
  • Спасибо. Было очень удобно использовать ваше дополнение пока разработчики не реализовали нужный функционал.
  • thank you so much for your past work on this extension! since there's an option in about:config, i guess it's now redundant.
  • HUGE thanks to previous reviewer GeBra for revealing this. In Firefox 57+, you can simply go to about:config and set browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs to true. You can do this by simply double-clicking the setting. In other words, this functionality is 100% available in Firefox 57 and above; this add-on may not work, but it is not necessary either. I am very relieved, as this was a really great feature. It just seems to improve the "flow" of browsing so much to have bookmarks open in a new tab automatically. Thanks so much for this add-on, it was really great when it was necessary and for all we know it may have inspired Mozilla to implement the feature officially.
  • Looks like it won't be possible to port this to WebExtension for Fx 57+. Fortunately there will be a new pref in place for Fx 57 to cover the main functionality,
    See Bug 658245
  • Will this exellent add on be upgraded to work with 57
  • I've been dependent upon this add-on and now that it's gone with the 57+ (developer edition) update I feel like a bull in a china shop. Would you please consider updating!?! I find this add-on indispensable to my work flow as a web developer. I like that it feels like a part of Firefox and is not overwhelming like some other tab managers seem to be. Perfect for my needs!! Thank you.
  • Thank you.
...and,please,don't let it go with bloody new googzilla!
  • One of those little changes that makes a big difference.
  • Very important extension for me. I've been using this for many years. Please make compliant for FFv56+ WebExtensions.
  • Hi, really nice handy extention.
Any chances to port it to WebExtentions?
  • Can't do without
  • genau, was ich brauche!
  • one of simples, yet best. please clone it for chrome
