Does its job Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Nice job on this extension.

Does exactly what it is designed to do.

Those complaining about it seem not to have read what this extension does nor conducted a search on how to disable the Awesome Bar.

I'm with Kmads and mauzer_tim - developers take note: dump the 'awesomely annoying' bar!

Good to get rid of that ugly thing. Sad that the search thing is still there :/

Thumbs up! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add-on! I just really hope that they make that bloated menu and that terrible terrible search-algorithm an option in the final version!

Hope developers of FF refuse from the UglyBar in the final version Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've added the rate just to underline the fact that new address bar in FF3 is UGLY!

It creates an information overload of my sight - there are too many letters with different fonts, but really it's less informative than old-style bar.

And I don't know why but I... afraid of AwesomeBar (UglyBar?). I was shuddered when I firstly saw it.

Its a good idea, I'm not a fan of the new bar. Doesn't appear to work, though, on FF3b5 under OS X 10.4.

Thank GOD you made this ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I recently install firefox 3 and i found out the awesome-terrible new bar...

I cannot understand why the new firefox 3 location bar is called awesome...i would call it : "Hell"

Why ? That's why :

1)I don't want a bunch of addresses to come up everytime i try to type.
2)90% of what i m typing is not a bookmark ( if it was a bookmark why should i type it anyway ) 3)90% of what i m typing and it's not a past search.
4)For personal reasons i don't want to keep history and i don't want history to come up with a typing of a single letter.Respect my privacy !

I hope that firefox 3 developers will add an option of disabling this in the final version.
Until then i will return to firefox 2 and if the final version of 3 still has no option of removing it i ll use your extension.

Thank you for giving me hope !

Perfect !

This sucks. It only makes the location bar look like the good old, but it still works like the new bar. Might as well put a paper bag on my head.

Please, please, please can there be some way to make the URL bar behave precisely like the old one?\r\n\r\nI\'ve gotten so used to typing in the first few characters of a URL I use frequently and then pressing down and enter, that now I\'m getting to completely the wrong page. It\'s not the presentation of the results I object to, but the ordering of them.\r\n\r\nIf I type a URL starting \"th\" then I\'m going to get more frequently used URLs that happen to contain \"the\" in their description. Not good.\r\n\r\nI was going to switch to using Firefox 3 beta permanently so that I could get used to it and check that all the sites I use work, but until this ridiculous new \"feature\" can be disabled somehow then I\'m going back to Firefox 2. :-(

Fantastic add-on! "AwesomeBar" has to be the single worst feature I have ever seen on Firefox. And going out of their way to ensure that it can't be turned off? Real mature. Hopefully the FF2 algorithm will be included in future releases of oldbar (or even better, in FF3).

I can't stand the new adress bar. Now the simple, clean bar is back. Thank you!

Thanks a lot.
It works under beta5 and now, I can drop my Firefox 2.xx without regrets

Great! Suggestion tho... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I'm happy someone made this. The new address bar looked like it was made for half-blind people, and was useless for a long time web surfer such as myself.

One suggestion tho, that I hope your working on is: To make it Completely like the old one. It doesn't show the results in the same types of order as the old one. It doesn't start matching the first letter of the address from after the http://www.

Much better than Fx3 addressbar but could be even better Rated 4 out of 5 stars

What happened? This extension was compatible with beta2 and now it isn't. Why? I use Beta2 because it is the last version with a nice default theme. I won't upgrade further until my theme author updates my theme and will be after Fx3 is officially launched. I guess I can reverse bump the minimum version via WinRAR.

This extension is much better than the horrible address bar in Fx3 and I thank you for making it so I can use Fx3 as without an extension like this, I would never upgrade. But this is still messy and could be much more elegant and simple. I agree with Elleo that it would be wonderful if you could add an option to make the bar like in 1.5 and earlier so that when I type the letter "g" in the address bar the only sites that are listed in the drop down are the ones I go to that begin with "g". I ONLY want to go to Google main page when I type the letter "g" in the address bar so I don't want to have to search through a lot of addresses. (I always search from the main Google page and never any other way so I type "g" in the address bar a lot and it is really irritating in Fx 3 to get a long jumble of junk. Your extension cleans out some of the junk but I want the address bar to be just like it is in 1.5 and earlier.

Old search behaviour Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Would it be possible to add an option to give the same search behaviour that the old address bar gave? i.e. Just search based on the beginning of the URL, not searching against sub-strings within the entire URL and title.

Yay! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

You're my hero!

Almost Firefox 2 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is almost perfect - however it would be great to order the results like Firefox 2 instead of just looking like it.\r\n\r\nBy this I mean that when you enter a single letter, you get addresses that start with that letter.\r\n\r\nFor instance even with oldbar, when entering \"m\", is still the first result!

Very nice Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just a tweak i need :). Thanks

Thank you Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The "awesome bar" really is a step backwards. Thank you for this extension!
