Broken Add-on in FF10 Rated 1 out of 5 stars

There is apparently no way to disable the favicon garbage now in FF. Old Location Bar can no longer do it, nor will it remove the Bookmarks button.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1.6.1-signed.1-signed).

This is fixed now! :)

GREAT! (but not realy.) Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works great with the default ff theme, but doesn't on some themes.

Several options no longer working? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love this add-on and have been using it for ages.

but I've just updated to FF9 and the following aspects don't seem to work any more

- Always display "Go" button
- Hide the Bookmark button (Star)
- Hide the dropdown button
- Remove Old Location Bar from the "Tools" menu.

I noticed the "Go" arrow appears briefly on startup, but as soon as my homepage (Google) appears it gets replaced by the bookmark star and the dropdown arrow.

Great add-on. However, it constantly keeps reverting my choices for the Location Bar behaviour to the default options. Not sure if it's specific to my pc or an actual bug.

I use these options:
- Choose if Go button always displays or not..
- Choose if RSS Feed button displays or not.
- Choose if Bookmark Star button displays or not.
- Remove Old Location Bar from the "Tools" menu.

This Extension is quite handy for saving space on the URLbar for HTTP addresses. I have been testing it with the tgrsc Extension Glassy Urlbar and found no evidence of mutual interference.

One combination of preferences, that I use between this Extension, the aforementioned tgrsc Extension, and the patrickjdempsey Extension Combine Buttons, utilizes the combined Stop/Reload between Back and Forward ( [ Reload Stop * { Throbber Back/Forward [ Home URLbar ), with the following Settings this Extension:

*Always show Go button
*Hide the Bookmark button (said button being redundant where Bookmark This Page Plus is used)
*Hide Security Info (optional)

I deliberately unset "Yellow on secure Webpages" as a hedge against visual artifacts from potential interference with Glassy Urlbar. The aforementioned should work nicely with any Strata-based Theme.

GO button? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

nice addon!

BUT... The "GO" button still appears?

i suggest that you permanently remove the "GO" button as a default, even when you untick the "Always display GO button"

hope this will be solved on the next update...

Does NOT behave the exact same way as FF2's location bar / address field.

This is a good attempt, and it's better than the incredibly nerfed bar in FF3... but while it "looks" the same as the normal address field; it does NOT behave like it. No matter what combination of settings you use, it's impossible to get it to act the same way as FF2's.

This is very sad, since FF2's was sheer brilliance, without any of the BS introduced in FF3.

I've used this for months now, and will keep using it, because there no alternative.

I really hope the author of this addon will improve upon it and perhaps add an option that says "Mimic FF2 behavior exactly".

Then, this addon would truly be beyond excellent.

...

If I could have, don't you think I would have? The whole original point of my add-on is to mimic FF2's as close as possible. And this is as close as possible it can get without me actually releasing a modified version of Firefox.

One of my must have have add ons.

Thanks for adding the option to disable the go button, and all the other option you added in fact. With that, this add on is now perfect for me.

Thank you.

This addon is a MUST HAVE. Because of the new location bar and it's odd behavior, I was ready to switch to Google Chrome, however I found this add on and it works very well. Why Firefox 3 won't let the user control location bar behavior I can't understand, but this add on does a great job fixing it.

Excellent addon. My only gripe is I can't middle-click on a location bar match and have it open in a new window/tab.

Excellent!

I accidentally updated my old FF 2.5 and hoped that someone had done this add-on, since I hated the new location bar and didn't find the old Firefox from downloads.

This hasn't been tested very well on a Mac -- in the Mac version of Firefox 3.5, the bottom 20% of all the options dialog-boxes in this add-on's preferences are cut off.
