Is this 100% FF2 compatible Rated 5 out of 5 stars

OK, to Kakkoii - I have 2 questions (plus the subject line):

1. Does this search URL's only AND starting at the beginning of the URL?
2. Does it show the most-visited matches at the top (i.e. as 1st choice)?

This is how FF2 used to display the matches in the url bar.

If the answer to both questions is 'yes' then I am going to install FF3 again
and add this add-on to it, until then I will stick with the tried-and-tested
FF2 and avoid any further headaches and embarrassment.

Kakkoii, I found the following 'tweaks' regarding removing the hideous nature of 'that thing', but as I am on FF2 (and will only move to FF3 when I am 100% certain that the 'hideous thing' can be replaced with the FF2 behaviour) I cannot confirm these would you be able to testify that they work:

browser.urlbar.matchOnlyTyped=true (address-only search)

browser.urlbar.maxRichResults=0 (remove the limit of showing matches - FF2 behaviour. This in FF3 is restricted to 12).

browser.urlbar.matchBehavior=2 (possibly beginsWith URL-only search);

browser.urlbar.richResults=false (disable the FF3-type behaviour?).

in userChrome.css:
to hide the star button: Add this line to the end of the file: #star-button {display: none !important;}
to always show the 'Go' button: #go-button { visibility: visible !important; }
to hide the web feed icon: #feed-button[feeds] { display: none !important; }
23/07/2008 Update: Kakkoii, there is something you might be interested in to incorporate it into your add on: apparently, the awful bar is going to be fully configurable in FF3.1 - FF3.1a1 is due on 25/07/2008 and will have these changes incorporated into it, but you can see the particular changes to the awful bar in great detail here: and here -

You may be able to incorporate these changes into your add on without the need for installing 3.1-alpha1...

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3).

Not the place

Firstly, This isn't the place for suggestions. Email me about that.

Secondly. I already know about all those settings. This add-on edit's each one of those.

I already know how to hide the star button and the feed button.

I'm just waiting until I have an options menu made before I implement that code.

And this add-on already enables the go-button always.
