As the title suggests, I have a lounge room PC and often browse the web from right across the room using a wireless keyboard. This add on is pretty much essential unless you enjoy constantly resizing and zooming every page you come accross.
I couldn't really imagine not using this now i'm used to it, and even now grab it whenever i install Firefox, on any sort of computer.
I've been using this add in for a long time now and it is the one that I can't browse without.
However, latest firefox version seems to have built in zooming capabilities using the same Ctrl+Scroll, except that it does not support remembering each site setting.
WARNING!!: Gr8 addon, BUT if U set the default zoom level N E thing other than 100% U can have video display problems, such as cropping away the navigation bar in flash videos on TheYNC, Live Leak, etc.
Keep this in mind & ALWAYS set the default 2 100%, & U can punch the menu buttons or use mouse wheel if U want - otherwise, VIDEO PROBLEMS! =P
Took me a half hour disabling & re-adding addons 2 find this 1 was the culprit!
Works exactly as it should.
O only hope it is updated for Firefox 3.1
A release advertising support for Firefox 3.1 will be out within a week or two, if all goes well.
Version 1.0.1 works W/Netscape 9.0b1 ~:-)
Yes I also have Firefox 3.0.4 & SeaMonkey 2.0a2
One add-on that should be pushed to the front of the line, it's the easiest, most functional, add-on.
I suggest make URL for site setting editable. And add an interface to list the set sites.
Would you add support for [chm:file:] [file:] [mht:] protocols ?
Very good! Can be better if the status bar field, context menu item, or the site setting dialog can detect mouse wheel scroll.
On my Ubuntu 8.10 x86_64 system the control and shift mouse wheel functions don't appear to work. Instead, the control modifier on my mouse wheel decreases the scroll increment.
The first site I tried was a disappointment. I've long hated the default format for the scoreboards (NHL) at ESPN. When I use page zoom, the fonts overprint to such a degree it can be hard to click on the links.
My first test of No Squint was to zoom up the width of the scoreboard to the width of my screen, then dial back the fonts until I could read them again.
Disappointingly, no font zoom less than 100% has any effect on this site. I don't get this, because a 150 page zoom with an 80 font zoom still has the font *larger* than the default font size, just not as much larger as the page zoom alone, so it's not as if the problem has to do with the font size as such.
I groused about the loss of text zoom throughout the FF 3.0.x release cycle. In my opinion, ctrl-shift +/- should control text zoom in the default configuration.
For remembering site specific defaults, an extension such as No Squint is the way to go.
Great but needs to be updated bad.
This is a fantastic extension, both in concept and in execution. I am legally blind and have become dependent on the use of No Squint. Instead of customizing each site's zoom settings each time I visit, I set them one time and bob's your uncle.
It does just what I need — I can set a default zoom, but still set custom page & text zooms for specific sites.
very very good
This extension is fantastic, but slow my firefox in page with image... i must disable it...
I like your extension! :)
I only miss the ability to quickly change the default zoom level.
Since I like to use full screen mode, I'd like to change the default zoom level via ctrl+'+' or '-' istead of site specific levels.
Great add-on!!! It works perfectly!
I have been using No Squint constantly, but there is a learning curve. Once you get past that, to get a feel for how the utility works, you will quickly realize how much better No Squint is, as it compares to other page zoom add-ons - that just zoom. Once you get the hang of "dual zoom coordination", you may want to give No Squint 6 stars. It completely changed my whole view of the internet highway.
"Yea, I want to zoom the whole page in, but once I'm done zooming, I then want to size the text up a little more."
If you have ever said this, No Squint is for you.
Really useful extension. Works exactly as it should. Thanks Jason.
No Squint is a freakin' buddhasend! I run ultra-high resolution, but so many webpages are unreadable at that point. No squint fixes almost all of them (yay for setting default zoom!), even flash games! Woot! I'd say it's my most used addon.
but i think the information showed on status bar is a bit too long.
it can be reduced to only numbers. like: "A 100% (website.com)" can be only "100%) and if i need more information, right click it or double click it to show full info.
'cause i got lots of icons on status bar, don't want any of them to take too much space.
I just got a new laptop with a high-res screen and was going nuts with the small fonts on the sites I normally visit. Awesome add-on! Thanks!
Default zoom is the most useful feature!
Thanks for the best addon!
This is a very Important extention.
Thanks your provide.
Fantastic! Love it.
I'd like to see one feature added: a quick reset to default by, say, middle clicking on the button.
Thanks for this add-on and keep up the good work.
