by Sangha, 3 years agoUnusable. It takes several seconds for a site to be displayed while it is immediate with the NordVPN software.

- Rated 3 out of 5by IkDNA, 7 hours agoSeems to have a problem with the kill switch function. When you lose internet connection kill switch blocks the app itself to reconnect. If I turn that option off and connect manually, it works
- Rated 1 out of 5by TonyRambo, 20 hours agoLike everyone else and probably many silent users, it's impossible to use the extension since the last update.
It's truly surprising that a company spamming YouTube partnerships and ads everywhere isn't more responsive in fixing such a serious issue.
Especially since we're paying a subscription to benefit from the VPN's features.
Really disappointed with the lack of professionalism, it's as if it's an internal sabotage by a disgruntled employee to harm the company's reputation.Developer response
posted 17 hours agoHello. We are aware of the issue and we're working on a fix. Apologies for any inconvenience in the meantime! -L.L.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Flok, a day agoUpdate broke things spectacularly and now force loads all tabs crippling performance. I won't question why it's accessing data on all my tabs because I don't care but other people probably do. Been about a week now for me.
Where my actual complaint comes in is their reaction (or complete lack thereof) with STILL no fix, no rollback, no notice to customers (had to find out about the problem here after disabling a bunch of addons), no functional previous version available in the firefox addon version history area for us to use - nada.
This is completely inexcusable behavior for a company in the security business. - Rated 1 out of 5by moscosov, a day agola extensión funciona bien pero tienen la pura la caga con la ultima actualización.

Apologies for the temporary inconvenience. -N.L. - Rated 3 out of 5by Vynax, 7 days agoIf your Firefox crash after NordVPN's April 2024 update, use the Task Manager to shutdown Firefox completely.
Then press shift when you restart Firefox, you should be able to use Firefox without any extension enabled ( safe mode ).
Disable NordVPN extension and restart Firefox, you should be able to use Firefox normaly for now.Developer response

posted 8 days agoHello. Our team is aware of the issues with the latest update, and we will release a fix as soon as possible. Sorry for this inconvenience! -L.L. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15309897, 8 days agoI have the same issue as other users. All my tabs in Firefox are loading on start-up. I use the extension because Google does not load when I am connected with the desktop app only. Somehow with this plugin I bypass this issue.
I have tried all the commands around the tabs loading in Firefox config but it does not matter, the extension bypasses them no matter what. Only deactivating the extension resolves the issue.
I tried deleting and re-adding the extension. Nothing at all. It is sad. We pay for this service and it doesn't work. Please fix it. The issue happened to me yesterday as Firefox updated to latest version.Developer response

- Rated 1 out of 5by aminomancer, 8 days agoThe latest update (Apr 4, 2024) causes Firefox to instantly crash, and seems like it may be compromised. This addon now takes it upon itself to load all my discarded tabs. With many discarded tabs, that equals a crash. Given that it can access your data for all websites, this behavior is very suspicious.
If you use session restore and have many tabs, then when you launch Firefox, you'll have many tabs discarded in the background, which won't load until you click on them.
That's how it's supposed to work, but this addon forcibly loads them as soon as it runs. I have no idea why. It's trying to open a document called fingerprint.html (could you possibly be more sketchy?), but for some reason it ends up loading all my tabs. Considering that NordVPN was notoriously hacked recently, I would certainly not install this addon.
This is especially serious because most users in this situation will not know how to recover their profile. The addon causes this crash as soon as it starts, which is at app startup. So as soon as you launch Firefox, it crashes. There's no opportunity to use the Firefox UI to close some of your tabs or delete the addon. And most users won't even know how to figure out that it's this particular addon causing the problem.
The way to fix this is to find your profile (google that), go to the extensions folder, and delete the xpi file whose name starts with "nord". Then when you start Firefox there should be no problem (assuming a malicious actor hasn't taken control of this addon and is using this behavior to collect data on all your open tabs).Developer response

- Rated 4 out of 5by ledov, 15 days agoI usually use the "auto connect" option. It works (debian 12.5) as it should. But I would like a browser add-on to be able to a) know that the connection is established; b) disable and enable the connection on a system-wide (not just browser) level.
