Fantastic Addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Seeing as I cannot financially contribute, I figured I'd help out by combating recent negative reviews regarding the url change that the dev himself cannot fix due to Firefox's new add-on requirements. Great application, and so much better than Firefox's default page. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (82.2).
Great add-on, huge thanks to the dev for migrating this Rated 5 out of 5 stars
When 82.1 installed for me, it broke the new tab page and all I got was the Firefox default (which stinks). Luckily, the dev posted a simple instruction on the github page for the add-on: launch the browser with the purgecaches argument to fix it. I did and voila, my new tab page was back, minus the tile images (mine rarely work right because I force FF to clear almost everything on close, and I got tired of setting them manually).
For those complaining about the URL in the address bar, this is Mozilla's doing and not the dev's fault. I don't like it either, but it is what it is. The new tab page still works, so this is just a cosmetic annoyance -- I can live with it.
I wanted to leave a 5 star review here because 1) I love this add-on, 2) I've been using it for a long time and can't live without it, and 3) to offset all the recent negative reviews because of something that was out of the dev's control.
2 big thumbs up to the dev for continuing to provide a great addition to Firefox.
Actually your tile images are probably broken because I stuffed it up! There's a GitHub issue about fixing that too.
Love it, waiting for WebExtensions version! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Still opening new tab opens with filled address bar Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Opening new tab still initiates a filled address bar "moz-extension://44a18a87-5128-49a5-ae2e-3ce927070918/newTab.xhtml"
I removed ver 82 and reverted back to 81 and disabled update for it since developer is not able to fix it.
Please remove this filled URL and provide a blank one
I would love to. But I *can't*. So you might as well stop asking.
Oops, Working now. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I wrote a review and then after I deleted it as I found some info that helped me fix the issue.
So I like the Tab Tools add-on and it works good. I think the Dev puts lots of work into it and for people like me I appreciate it. It is one of the better add-ons.
Great Job thanks.
Thank you for keeping this working Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is really useful and the changes for FF57 are certainly difficult. So please keep goingThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (82.1).
problem with new update Rated 4 out of 5 stars
After this update i get "moz-extension://6445b52d-.../newTab.xhtml"
in the addressbar of the new tab
Why did this have to be updated....? Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I don't get why this had to be fixed, it was working PERFECTLY fine, and you could edit the tabs! But now, you can't edit anything on there? Who thought this was a good idea? They should really it back to how it was, its painful to think someone thought not being able to edit your tabs at all was a good thing. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (82.1).
Bravo ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I love your New Tab Tools add-on and am very grateful you've moved it across to webextension - well done and thank you.
Hopefully in a less critical manner than the other commenter, it would be great if you could clear the URL in the address bar when a new tab opens as I've got used to just starting typing without having to click in the address bar, but this is a minor inconvenience.
If you have problem with 55.0.3 update Rated 5 out of 5 stars
try uninstall the addon, restart, and install ver.81 (current version is 82).
it works great as usual.
1.Scroll down to the version information,

Thanks to developers Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Very useful expansion, I hope developers can continue to develop, make New Tab Tools more perfect. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (82.1).
Your add-on is not working anymore!!! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Great way to personalize and customize the new tab page Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Works as advertised. Shame that the migration to WebExtensions meant that some features had to go, but it's still miles better than the default uncustomizable FF new tab page. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (82.1).
no longer works. Rated 3 out of 5 stars
firefox is now loading their own default, craptastic new tab page instead. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (82.1).
Worked fine, and sudenly blew up. Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Can't recommend something, that doesn't work, can I? It updated to the bullcrap version, worked a while, and suddenly stopped.
Happy to edit it, once everything's fixed.
Small update. It seems to pop in and out of existence. I'm willing to give it 2 more stars for that, cause it's a beautiful addon, but still. Broken atm.
Used to work well Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Arf! The last update is not working so well anymore... :'( Somehow almost every custom icon has disappeared, the newtab is slower to load and just now it simply stopped working (about:newtab just opens a regular newtab). I know that the rewrite of the code must have been lots of work (yeah, cause Mozilla is kinda forcing this on everyone), so I hope you can fix this soon! Thx for the work.
Edit: It did work again and quite well for a while, but now I get the regular about:newtab again, even after restarting both the extension and Firefox... :/
Thanks for understanding! I suspect what you've actually got is the built-in new tab page. Your new tab's address should've changed to moz-extension://<numbers and letters>/newTab.xhtml. Try restarting NTT and/or Firefox to see if that fixes it. (Pretty sure this is a Firefox bug, not mine!)
New Tab Tools v82.1 has bug of missing option in Firefox 55.0.3 Rated 5 out of 5 stars
When I update to V 82.1, option to import & export backup is missing. But on Firefox beta v 56 everything is OK.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (82.1).
Yes it is missing. Sorry.
Due to Firefox's new extension system I just can't make it do that sort of thing any more. I *might* be able to fix it in future, but needed to get this release out before the whole thing stops working altogether.
Was a grand tool for Firefox, now it's junk Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Everything was perfect and then someone had the bright idea that something needed to change. In fact it changed on me while I was online in Firefox. Started a new tab and was shocked to see everything screwed up. My tabs are still in order but custom icons replace with website snapshots. Icon size changed, rows and column size changed and no way to control anything. You know the old saying "If it's not broke don't fix it"?This review is for a previous version of the add-on (82.1).
does not work Rated 3 out of 5 stars
This last version does not work at all
Firefox 55.0.3 (64-bit)
My apologies. A few people have run into a Firefox bug which causes the upgrade to not happen properly. You might need to restart Firefox a few times before it gets the message.
Used to be very good. Rated 1 out of 5 stars
This add on used to work fine but it's gone downhill. Now it's done something weird to my tab images tiles where only some are showing. The developer also needs to make it so you can have JUST colours as the tab's image tile cos trying to do it with the background colour selector doesn't work. Also there's updates but they're rarely noticeable improvements from a user perspective, the developer could offer us options of different tile shapes like circles or triangles instead of rectangle if they're trying to make it better. Lot's of other ideas that are worth the hassle. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (82.1).
