- by Firefox user 13957755, 4 years agoRated 4 out of 5Does as described. Wish it was a bit more instantaneous, it seems to go through some short redirect process that is about a second long.

- by ratabin, 4 years agoRated 4 out of 5Hi, Really happy with the add-on. But it does not work on a 32bits system doesn't it? Not my computer but someone else I recommended it to have a 32bits laptop, windows 8.1 and they cannot install the add-on.
- by Winston Struye, 4 years agoRated 4 out of 5Very good! Only REALLY wish that firefox would let the could clear URL bar and then focus, so I could search right away.
Under the "preferences" of this add-on it states that this is waiting on a change from Mozilla... when can we do this Mozilla? I can do this in Chrome perfectly fine... - by Firefox user 13565125, 4 years agoRated 4 out of 5Bug: No longer focuses search field when "about:home" is set as a start page.
Please fix. - by kret, 4 years agoRated 4 out of 5New version. Focus on site doesn't work.
I use FF 59 64-bit, switch off all adds, and still focus not working. When I use new tab (about:home), and check box focus on site, there is no focus. There is no focus on address bar, and there is no focus on new tab (about:home).
The previous New Tab Override version worked fine.Developer response
posted 4 years agoPlease test without other add-ons. I can't reproduce the issue. Focus on site works as expected in Firefox 59. If you still have a problem please file an issue on GitHub with more details. - by Azarilh, 4 years agoRated 4 out of 5Hey guys, how do i put an HTML file fo' the new tab without extensions? Is there a way? I put 4 starts becouse it opens the "local file" without images.

posted 4 years agoPlease tell me what is missing if you give only four stars. Without comment a review is not very useful because I, as developer of the add-on, does not know what I have to improve to make you happy. Thank you. - by Firefox user 13770695, 4 years agoRated 4 out of 5The new tab extension works exactly how I like. Except I would love it if there was an option that stops the last tab from closing unless you click the close button.
* Edit
Right now ctrl W will close the current tab, if you have lots of tabs open and you hit ctrl w several times it will close them all and eventually close the browser window. It would be nice to check a box to turn this option on or off.
To prevent this from happening right now you have to go into the Firefox preferences: about:config and set the browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab pref to false.
BTW, being able to focus on window and usability are the main reasons this add-on is superior to all the other "new tab" type add-ons out there right now. Great Job!Developer response

I don't know what this means. Could you please explain? - by Firefox user 13692283, 4 years agoRated 4 out of 5

- by Firefox user 13581683, 5 years agoRated 4 out of 5I have my own page with links to all of the services I use regularly. This extension gives me the ability to instantly open a new tab that contains all of those links that I use most often.

You gave only four stars but you didn't say what is missing. Please tell me what is missing, otherwise I don't know what I have to improve. - by Firefox user 13534191, 5 years agoRated 4 out of 5its the one and only proper tab replacement for this f*cking WebExtension sh*t. thanks for this, i'm probably donate you some $. - by Firefox user 13489682, 5 years agoRated 4 out of 5Ich hatte vorher TabMixPlus und war sehr zufrieden damit.
- by owlcroft, 5 years agoRated 4 out of 5It just works. The one little thing I'd like to see is the tab title being the actual page title (as in its HTML), rather than just "New Tab". Give me that and I'll give it the 5th star!
- by Firefox user 13420543, 5 years agoRated 4 out of 5Thanks I am now able to show my bookmarks file when a new tab opens. Only problem is that the field is filled with "moz-extension....." Any way to clear this field after a new tab is created?
Developer response
posted 5 years agoNo. As you can read in the add-on's settings page it's not possible for WebExtensions. - by Firefox user 13256535, 5 years agoRated 4 out of 5It does the trick, and I prefer about:home to about:newtab. My only request is that instead of going to an intermediary address (moz-extension://.../html/newtab.html) set it to the default. It works well other than that.

posted 5 years agoThank you for your feedback. There is nothing what I can do because there is no other way to override the new tab page, I have to call an extension script and this script has an URL. You have to suggest Mozilla to implement a better solution. ;) - by Firefox user 12940214, 5 years agoRated 4 out of 5Now my retina doesn't burn when I click on new tab. I wish it was more responsive though.

posted 5 years agoThank you for your feedback. Unfortunately I don't knwo what do you mean with "my retina doesn't burn when I click on new tab". And regarding responsive, the design *is* responsive. If you see a bug could you please open an issue on GitHub? Thank you. - by Duncan Moore, 5 years agoRated 4 out of 5I was hoping to use this extension to open about:newtab during "Private Browsing", but I see from older replies that not all about: pages are allowed with Web Extensions. If about:newtab is allowed, could you add it?
Developer response
posted 5 years agoabout:newtab is not allowed, maybe it will be allowed in the future. I already asked Mozilla and there was kind of agreement that it makes sense. But I don't think it will be possible in Firefox 56 and 57. But once it will be possible I'll add about:newtab to the allowed URIs.
