Works like a charm! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Have used this New Tab Homepage for years and would not be without it. Easily 5 stars!

It works! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This does what I need it to do. It should be an option in Firefox itself.

I would like to reiterate most recent review Rated 5 out of 5 stars

My configuration is the same as posted by craggles on July 18 - my homepage is Google, and using this add-on, I have it set to display this homepage as my new tab page. And the focus is not on the main search box. When going to my homepage from any already open tab - including the new tab homepage, the cursor will display in the search box.

I did a bit of research before installing this extension when I did. Actually, more than needed because the overall objective was to basically avoid even one extra mouse click. First, I had to learn how to set the homepage. Check Then I learned that FF had eliminated the built in feature of setting a new tab to the homepage for security reasons. I still wonder about the security risks with any of the add-ons that offer this functionality. But I chose this one after evaluating two others, as this was the best.

Now I see there is a new addon that says it not only will set a new tab to the homepage, but will apply focus to the "page". In Google, this would obviously be the only form field, the main search box. I don't know what that means for other homepages. Other objects can have focus too, not just text boxes.

So, I like the way this works and will stick with it. It only takes one extra mouse click to place the cursor in the search box - or to reload the page by clicking the home button.

Great, with one flaw Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This is a great extension, for the firefox browser,it opens your homepage as another tab, which i have set to google.

But the annoying issue is it puts the curser in the (www.) address bar,and no way to tell it to put it into the search bar in google on your home page.

Simply a great add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Powerfully Efficient - THANK YOU Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I really only wanted this for one purpose and not only does it do that but it pageloads SUPERFAST too, even on an older Dell D610 Latitude laptop running Win XP SP3 in 32-bit mode. Very Nice. Comments here implying this lacks additional features or functionality should be COMPLETELY disregarded, since many firefox version updates are simply change for change sake that get as many irate complaints as praise. And this does a very nice job of what it is expected to do :::: NO COMPLAINTS HERE ::::: thanks again so much :)

Nice but why is this proprietary? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This is a nice addon but it would be great if you could publish the addon source code. I don't want proprietary code running in my browser :(

Works fine.

Should default to search bar! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I recall when I first started using this app it would default to the search bar on new tabs. That was great! Now it does not. A terrible flaw, IMHO. Return to that feature and I'll contribute $10. I promise!

Simple & clean, bug w/TabGroupsManager Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This is a functional basic extension, but does not load the homepage in the first tab of any newly created TabGroup (applicable if the TabGroupManager extension is installed). See also for discussion about possibly integrating this functionality into Firefox more directly.

Simple and Sweet! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works just the way it should!

Excellent App! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I LOVE this app. Thank You! I am constantly opening new tabs and this add-on saves me time and frustration.

Please add "focus" feature! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This addon would be absolutely perfect if it allowed the user to change where the focus is in the new tab. I, like perhaps many others, use Google as my homepage and it would be better to have focus in the search bar.

Status for FF 43.0? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Love this add-on; had it installed on my primary machine and it continues to work perfectly even after FF update to 43.0.4. However, on a new machine with a fresh FF install (still at 43.0.4), the + Add to Firefox button is greyed out with a caption beneath it saying "Not available for Firefox 43.0." Any way around this? Thanks!

Very Frustrating Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I love this app and have used it along time but I am forced to try another one because I have found that every time I clear my search history from my Bing Searchbar, this app does remove itself and my homepage goes to default and I have to keep going into the apps and reinstalling it. why is this?

With search engine (google), cursor stays in address bar Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Firefox 43.0.3 64 bit, New tab homepage 0.5.0
Homepage is a search engine (
Page opens very quickly, but the cursor stays in both cases in the address bar.
I found no option to let it go to the search field.
Since I don't want to have to click in the search field every time, this addon is not a solution for me.
It is frustrating because it seems to me that such an option would not be complecated to implement.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.0).
