It's a baby yet! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Prism idea is cool but...
On 0.9 it steel lacks simple things like
- A simple way to configure Proxy.
- A way to Refresh the Webapp
- A way to launch a filed "Convert Website to App" from page script when Prism is detected as userAgent.
- A way to execute Prism specific JS methods from page script. (If it is possible, I can't find how)
- If it is using Firefox, why can't I install Firefox add-ons on Prism?
- Where is the tray support on Linux, at least for Kde and Gnome?

Prism can be a good competition for Adobe AIR, but it needs to grow a lot first!

Prism - Firefox with No Add-Ons? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love the idea of Prism, but one of the biggest values of Firefox is missing from what I see... I can't use all my other add-ons including GreaseMonkey etc from a Prism "webapp".

For example... having my Google Apps Gmail in Prism would be great! But it's NOTHING without GTDinbox Add-on (www.gtdinbox.com)

Causes Firefox to close after file download Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I installed this extension. Then every time I downloaded a file from the internet and saved it, Firefox would close. I desabled the extension and the problem disappeared. Hope this issue will be corrected soon, as like the extension.

It works as expected.

The only problem I see is that I cannot enable addons. This is a problem as there are several addons that I use for specific web applications

Meh Rated 4 out of 5 stars

So far I prefer the old version of Prism... this one groups with Firefox in windows, and doesn't let the web apps use the titlebar... something very useful with Gmail etc.

The only good thing I've found is that it uses the Firefox engine, meaning as Firefox is updated, this will update too... that's it.

This is totally perfect! It's awesome and opens a whole lot of possibilities, to have for instance Google Calendar as a "standalone". it's a real time saver!
It still needs alot of work though and there are many bugs still... But it's an awesome piece of software with alot of potential!

Even though it installs fine with Firefox RC1, unlike the standalone version, I could not get it to work. Nothing happens when I click OK.

Great Addon !
Firefox 4 promises to change many habbits.

The xulrunner is light and fast, and this is adapted to launch fast links (such a short google search, etc).

It would be also great to allow websites to install their webapps through javascript eg something like navigator.prism.installWebApp("link")
(with the good warns of course)

windows xp - on FF3.0b - works verynicely: choose "convert web page to application", decide if you want toolbars etc or not, save file - poof, you have a shortcut to launch the web page in a separate FF browser window.

personally not sure what the fuss is all about - except it allows for launching separate browser processes from the O/S, and allows hiding of browser chrome. So, instead of having 9 tabs I now have 9 browsers open, thus not running the risk of crashing the whole session due to a script bug in one site.

Not Just a shortcut Maker Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It uses XulRunner to render pages in its own browser
Not just making shortcuts because it gives them their own process so if your doing something important on the web your not loosing everything if firefox crashes.

https Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I like Prism very much, but it doesn't like HTTPS-protected websites.

It simply doesn't work for those sites. Creator's window isn't closed and launcher isn't created.
