Most Useful App Out There Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Morning Coffee is the most useful app/add-on I've ever found. Because I've added them, I no longer forget to log in to certain sites on certain days. I wish I could use it with Chrome and Explorer (which I use less and less).

Frank (lordlamer) fixed Morning Coffee so that it works with Firefox 29.0. Thanks Frank! I'd give you my firstborne if he was worth anything.

Fixed Version here Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hi,

i found the problem with firefox 29 and created a fixed version here:
http://download.lordlamer.de/firefox/morning_coffee-1.35.1-fx-nmu.xpi

I bumped up the version to 1.35.1 and fixe the LoadUp function in morningCoffee.js.
I added this as the first line in the function:
morningCoffee_main.LoadFromFiles();

That fixes the problems with ff29.

Frank

Quick Fix

Ok, I’ve got a quick hack to get this to run again. First implement rabec's fix, below. Then, inside the XPI file, open install.rdf and look for this line:

em:id="morningCoffee@shaneliesegang"

Change the string slightly; for example:

em:id="xxxmorningCoffee@shaneliesegang"

This foils Mozilla’s new "old, not-updated-recently extension" check -- done on its servers AFAICT -- which is why MC suddenly wouldn’t run or install anymore.

It's working great for me now; all props to rabec for the main fix!

Why was this Disabled?

The add on works by just opening, hitting configure and it works for that firefox session. Mozilla please give us back Morning Coffee. I'm getting a lack of caffeine headache!!! I need my morning coffee.

MC disabled itself Rated 1 out of 5 stars

WTF? Found app disabled today when I opened FF. Even though it took a couple more clicks to get it to work yesterday it was working. Really no need for it to make itself disappear. Cannot reload app because it says incompatible with FF 29. I am now shut down with MC. Come on SJML folks, pull your head out of your ass and get your app fixed.

Need my coffee.... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I can't get Morning Coffee to install. I edited the JS file per the instructions here but FF still says it's incompatible. Any other ideas?

I've made a new Version of this Add On containing the Fix provided by rabec. Nothing else changed. Any Idea how to get it uploaded and if it's ok if i do so?

Quick fix for FF 29.0.1 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I use Morning Coffee with FF 29.0.1, and find that it will work if you go to Configure in MC, and click either OK or cancel. Then it runs as usual. You have to do this every time you open FF.

how to fix the ff29 bug Rated 5 out of 5 stars

right click on the "add to firefox" button and save the morning coffee.xpi on your desktop.
rename the .xpi to a .zip
double klick the .zip and brows in the zip file to \chrome\chromeFiles\content
open the morningCoffee.js in wordpad and search for this string:

if (stylesheets[i].href == "chrome://morningcoffee/skin/morningCoffee.css")

insert the following string before the string above:

if ( stylesheets[i].href == undefined ) { // by rabe due to bug with ff 29.0
continue;
}

save the changes and rename the .zip back to .xpi
drop the .xpi file to firefox and youre done

...............
if you cant save the changes just save the file on your desktop and then replace the old one in the zip folder with the new one

The fix works fine, but editing the xpi file is a huge pain.

Five Stars to the Comment Below Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been a long-time user of this add-on, almost ever since it was first put on AMO. Was a little disappointed that Fx 29 broke it ( ;-) ). Thanks, rabec, for the quick fix - it works very well.

Fix for FF 29 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If you are familar with xpi files you may modify the morningCoffee.js file inside the package:
In the Init function add:

if ( stylesheets[i].href == undefined ) { // by rabe due to bug with ff 29.0
continue;
}

before this line:

if (stylesheets[i].href == "chrome://morningcoffee/skin/morningCoffee.css") ...

Thanks so much to the author of this article.

For those of you who don't speak french, you just have to create a folder on the shortcut toolbar (hadn't thought about that). Then you put your shortcuts in it. To open it all, it then takes two clicks : right click and then select "open all in tabs".

One way I've found to make it work in the meantime is to use the pull down menu to "Configure Morning Coffee" and press OK.
Then "Load My Morning Coffee" option in the menu should work.

Love this add on but... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

it unfortunately does not work come ff 29. So hoping the developer fixes this problem for this must have add-on. :)
