Easy to use and real time saver. Good for downloading apk files (Android). Just generate the code from a link and grab it with a barcode reader on the mobile device.

Some features is necessary Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It is necessary to add an option "Save barcode as JPG/PNG", and support of different languages - russian for example.

0.2.0 is wonderful... mostly. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Version 0.2.0 (from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addons/versions/2780 ) has working context menu pop-up. I needed to force it with Nightly Tester Tools. Context pop-up does not work with 0.2.1. I am using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100423 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6.3.

One other problem with the context pop-up is that the border is clear--which means 'dark' when using a dark system theme. That breaks functionality for some phones (E71 and N900); they can't recognize the code without a white border. I know that is a weeny complaint, effecting only a small portion of users. But the context pop-up is core to this add-on, for me at least.

The only addon that actually works as I want it, but the latest version doesnt show barcode created from links. The previous one still OK.
Install 2.0.3 from here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addons/versions/2780
If you use a newer version of Firefox, you may need the "Nightly Tester Tools" addon to bypass the restriction.

Not what i wanted Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Well, actually context menu is what doesn't work. And it was supposed to provide functionality I hoped for. Little box in bottom-right corner works but is unintuitive (because I tried to click it, not hover) and useless (because it is possible to generate barcode for current url only with it).

More details please

I'm sorry it's not working for you right now. Could you briefly explain what doesn't work with the context menu items? I've tested the extension on both Mac and Windows (latest version of Firefox) and haven't been able to spot a problem.

Does not work Rated 1 out of 5 stars

No matter what provider I choose it just pops up an empty box.

Perfect! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works as advertised; I had to fiddle with it for a while before I discovered the feature I was looking for (convert selection to barcode), but I won't rate it down on that alone. You should consider providing a brief documentation somewhere prominently, though.

Important function missing... Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Works well, but impossible to save the generated barcode => you MUST use the code immediately, you can't use Mobile Barcoder to generate code to be used in a website.

I'm working on it

I know that's a feature a few have wanted for a while, and now I'm going to work out a way to provide that functionality without making things more complex.

The little box shows up when I hover, but no barcode is produced. Just an empty box pops up.

One of those brilliant moments when you think "there must be an Add-On for that" and there is.
Very intuitive.
Thanks very much.

awesome addon!
runs smoothly with 3.6 when you change the max-version

Thanks for the tip

Sorry, I'd forgotten to change the max-version on the Mozilla site, I'll do that now.

Love this extension, but could you consider adding extra whitespace around the barcode that is generated by right-clicking a link (like you do with those generated by the status bar icon)?

I'm using a dark theme and can't get barcodes to scan, like so: http://i49.tinypic.com/2vv583q.png

Which theme?

Which theme and operating system are you using? I tested it with the NASA theme on Windows XP and it has a white border.

cool extension idea, but it doesn't seem to work... so i'm giving two stars. try download it and if it works leave a note here. websites should be responsible for coding their own sites. thesocialarchive.com website for example HAS mobile codes on every page.
